I did a search on her and nothing came up so here goes.
What did you guys think of her? I kidn of like her though she seemed like a west coast Charlotte. Her relationship with Dawn was a lot like Char's with Stacey...cept... I dunno. The books I know she was in was Dawn and the We <3 Kids Club, the Halloween Mystery thing, (was she in the surfer ghost too?) and California girls...course that one focused on her and Mary Anne.

ugggh I hate Stephie. I thought there was a thread too but maybe I've just complained about her in the CA Girls thread She is sooo annoying and just seems really cliche. I never thought of her as the West Coast Charlotte but you're right! Charlotte bugs me too so I guess that's why Stephie does. I was never a shy or quiet kid so kids like that always bugged me.

^^I think of Stephie as the west coast Mary Anne. Her mom died, her room was decorated with nursery school characters, and she was really shy. I think Dawn also mentioned that she and Mary Anne had a lot in common.

Yeah, her father was a lot like Richard.
I didn't really have much of an opinion of her. She was nice.

I agree that Stephie was the CA version of Charlotte (kind of MA too). There were so many similarities that it was almost annoying. I did like her, though, even more than Charlotte. Her relationship with Dawn was sweet. I especially liked the book where she drew the picture and wanted Dawn to be her mommy. I also enjoyed reading about her and MA's relationship in CA Girls. I think she was my favorite of all the CA charges.

I hated her because in CA Girls they pushed the 'California MA' thing too much. Her mom was dead, her father was over protective, her bedroom looked like a nursery...come on. Could they get any more obvious? They just gave her asthma to distinguish her a bit.

The "California MA" thing almost made me hate her, but overall I thought she was ok. She wasn't just a drippy shy girl, she actually came out of her shell and I liked that. And I like Mary Anne and Charlotte a lot so Stephie's similarities to the two of them don't bother me.

I loved it how Stephie wasn't scared on Jaws while the Dewitt boys were ;D Showed a bit more dimension than just the little shy girl. Agree about her coming out of her shell. I think she could have been an interesting character if she would have been used/developed more.

Whenever I think of Stephie, I think of Smoothies. I remember one book (anyone remember which one?) Where Dawn was sitting for Stephie and they got smoothies and Dawn explained in detail what a smoothie was, like it some super exotic health food. I remember reading that book (whatever it was, I think it may have been Surfer Ghost) when it first came out and thinking "DUH, who doesn't know what a smoothie is?" I think Dawn made a big deal about Stephie liking health food too which is another way she was different than Mary Anne.

Yeah, that was in Dawn and the Surfer Ghost. I loved how Stephie showed up again in that book!

^ Don't associate Stephie with smoothies but one is sounding really good right now ;D Actually, I don't like them but the description in this book made them sound good. It was one of my favorite things about this book.

Not about Stephie, but her asthma-I could never believe that *none* of the sitters knew what the condition was. I was older when I read the book, but I remembered lots of kids in school and day camp who carried rescue inhalers and had to take pills.

I hated how they kept saying "inhalator" in SS#5 instead of "inhaler." I have never heard the word inhalator used anywhere else except that book.

I know! As a kid reading that I was like "don't they know the word is inhaler?"
