It seemed like at the beginning of the series, the girls sat for people who were friends of each others parents. They were clients, but they were also adults that they could go to if they had an emergency. Then as the series progressed it was less of a quiet friendly super village neighborhood and more businesslike. Just my opinion though.

^ That is kind of how it seemed. It also seemed like the later books forgot about a lot of the details and little things - like the books, themselves, were more "businesslike"....

The Pikes! They seemed like a lot of fun, especially Mrs. Pike in Abby in Wonderland.

I really liked Dr. Johannsen in "Truth about Stacey" and I really liked Mrs. Braddock in "Jessi's Secret Language". Oh, and I admire Mrs. Pike for being able to deal with eight kids.
But I think I still like Mrs. Newton the best.

Mrs. Johanssen because she was sweet to Stacey. I like the Pikes because they're organized.

I don't know if I liked the Pike parents or just their parenting style. I think it was probably their loose parenting - the fact that they don't limit their kids much sort of appealed to me, especially since the kids didn't really abuse their freedom.

Mrs. Johanssen and Mrs. Perkins are the two main parents I have really warmed up to. I liked Mrs. Newton, too but I don't remember her very well.
