I'm surprised this never came up in a BSC book.
A charge who would be quite infatuated with ONE sitter and would refuse anyone else.
With exception of Rosie because she wasn't really vocal about her bond with Claudia.
Or even a parent, who would refuse to have anyone else but ______ sit for them.
Personally i'm surprised there were not more fussy parents who wouldnt approve of a BSC activity or some sort of ideal that a memeber had.
it certainly would spice things up and make things interesting. and it would be a problem for the BSC to tackle...haha

Char really preferred Stacey, I think, but did let others sit for her.

Of course Karen and Andrew and DM would like Kristy best, too.

Didn't Buddy get upset when another sitter came to sit for him instead of Dawn in one book? Maybe I'm making that up. But yeah, I used to think a charge complaining because they wanted one particular sitter all the time would eventually come up in a book and it really didn't.

I always thought that too, booboobrewer. I think it had something to do with the way they wrote out that clients aren't allowed to request specific sitters. Then they forgot that they wrote that, then we met the Lowells and they suddenly remembered it again, and then that rule kept coming up but they never did anythign with it. You would think a parent would like a particular sitter more than another one.
Like in Dawn's Big Date when they FINALLY point out that the sitters see things differently. What with Dawn liking Norman, but not his sister and stacey (?) liking the sister but not norman, etc.

I know that Buddy, Suzi, and Marnie really liked Dawn so why did all of a sudden Stacey overtake Dawn's role. I understand Dawn did move, but Stacey was with them all the time, when Dawn was back. Did the ghostwriters really just get their blondes mixed up?

Claudia liked the sister, Dawn didn't. Thanks. I couldn't remember which sitter it was.

Did the ghostwriters really just get their blondes mixed up? Seems like it. It always struck me as weird that they said Stacey was like part of their family in SS#12. Even as a kid I always thought "no, Dawn was..." I wonder why parents seldomly requested a specific sitter. I know that the BSC didn't work that way and that Kristy would have a cow if it did, but you'd think that after finding one sitter that they and the kids really liked, the parents would ask for her first. I think some parents would appreciate having the same steady sitter instead of having someone new sit for them and having to explain all the rules, routines, etc. over and over again. But I guess if you need a sitter to watch your kids while you go to the grocery store, you wouldn't really care about that sort of stuff.

It seems to me like there are a lot of sitting jobs in Stoneybrook for 2 hours after school. Did every stay at home mother in Stoneybrook wait until after 3 p.m. to do their errands? That seems so odd. And none of them had other sitters that were older for those "we are going to go to this new years eve party and I'll see you tomorrow when we drag ourselves back here around 5 am?, and can you please have your own ride home?" type jobs? I mean, I babysat overnight a few times when i was 13/14, but my parents lived down the street and no one really cared what I did as long as the kids had dinner and didn't, like, die while I was watching them. I figured that was not the norm, because none of my friends had jobs like that.

Penny Lane- I agree, you would think they would do their errands while their kids were at school or take the little ones with them. I have NEVER gotten a babysitting job that only lasted two hours. I thought it was weird that the majority of their jobs were. Incidently I have babysat for a family whose mother stumbled in at 5:30 am. Her husband called the house at 2 wondering where she was, since she was supposed to pick him up at work. I had babysat for almost twelve hours and she paid me 60 bucks. It upsetted me, but luckily she called the next day to apoligize and she gave me double the money the next time I babysat to make up for it.

Ya know, you're right. I know that there were kids who seemed to get/like one sitter more than the other, such as Dawn with the Barretts or MA with Jenny (though that was, of course, because MA was the only one who could handle a 3/4 year old child who really didn't seem that bad, besides complaining, but that's for another thread...) anyway, I never thought of it, but it's true. It would make sense. But I liked how they all babysat for all, because I was such a corny little child that I loved instances where everyone liked everyone equally ;D
