Since there are threads for Claire and the Pike boys and I just started one for Vanessa, I thought Margo deserved one, too. I really like her a lot – even though I think she could have been developed much more. I thought it was interesting when she got her own subplot in Bad Baby-sitter. She seemed to be the Pike kid (other than Nicky) kind of stuck in the middle – between being closer with Claire and with Vanessa. In a lot of books, she is actually pretty mature. I wish they would have done more with Margo as I think she (despite her bossy side or maybe because of that since I can relate ;D) was actually a pretty interesting character.

I don't have a clear conception of Margo the way I do the other Pikes. Actually she seemed kind of gross to me, what with throwing up a lot and peeling bananas with her feet.

She seems like more of a middle-child than Nicky, really.

I dont' really get Margo. She seems really immature to me -- she's 7, so she's closer in age to Nicky then to 5 year old Claire -- yet her and Claire act like they are best friends. 7 to me means 2nd grade, and there seems to be a big difference between second graders and kindergarteners. Yet that wasn't show at all. Just Claire and Margo playing twins . Also, the banana peeling thing is kind of weird.

Very weird. How she ever thought of it...no, I don't want to think about that.

They did share a room together, after all.

When I was seven, my niece was five, and we were best friends and did the whole twin thing. It's too bad we grew up to be exact opposites but we still know we can always count on each other. I liked Margo for the most part. Her getting motion sickness I could really relate to, and I thought it was unique that she could peel bananas with her feet.

I really like Margo. I don't think she's disgusting at all. I really like her personality, and I really like her pics too. Peeling bananas with her feet's kinda funny too. ;D I think it's really cute that she and Claire are best friends. ;D

I felt like Margo wasn't as developed as Mallory, Nicky, Vanessa, Claire, and Byron. Margo, Adam, and Jordan got the least attention given to their characters IMO. Margo sounded kind of annoying to me - she was described as bossy and in at least one book as being a really picky eater and only wanting to eat bread and butter for dinner. Plus there was her constant puking in the car or even on a tame carnival ride (OK, I know she couldn't help that, but still..yuck).

I liked Margo - I thought that her and Claire were cute as best friends and even though Margo was a little bossy, she seemed like an overall sweet kid

^ Agree. As for Margo puking, I really feel for her as I get extremely motion sick, too. Those who don't are lucky to not have to worry about it. ;D I'm also a picky eater and bossy sometimes so maybe that's another reason I like Margo. The banana peeling is gross but also kind of funny and an interesting talent. ;D I would have liked seeing a friendship developed between Margo and Marilyn Arnold and also Laurel Kuhn. I also wish we would have seen more interaction between her and Vanessa.

I didn't like Margo at first, but my first impression of her came from Karen's point of view in a LS book. I grew to like her though, I liked the relationship she had with Margo, I thought it was cute.

I think it makes sense that Margo would pal around with Claire - little kids often treat older kids as sort of authority figures, which would appeal to Margo's bossy nature.
My best friend when I was Mal's age was Nicky's age ;D We rode the school bus together, which is how we met. Sometimes age really doesn't make the difference you think it will, I guess.

which ls book is margo in? Karen's Mermaid. I think. ;D I didn't care for Margo in that one, either, but I always tend to take Karen's side. ;D They were cute at the end, though, when they rode on the float with the mermaid princess or whatever she was. (It was in Sea City.)
