I never noticed, but maybe they had to do some reshoots after the movie was done. It's not like there was a huge budget for the movie either. The cast was all no-name kids except for the cranky plant-lady neighbor. I wonder what everyone got paid for this.
BTW, I'm not sure why there's two threads going for the same movie, but I've responded in both because there's different things being talked about in each. I don't suppose we could merge the two threads somehow?

Random piece of trivia: the actors that played Jackie (Asher Metchick) and Alan (Aaron Michael Metchick) are brothers plus they starred in a movie with Schuyler Fisks mom the year before the BSC movie

^Trading Mom!!! I had forgotten all about that movie until you mentioned it, then I looked it up. That was a really good movie, and I think Schuyler even had a small part in it...I'll have to rent it now and double check for her. EDITED TO ADD: I picked this up at the video store on my way home from work today (thankfully they still have a rather sizeable VHS collection) and I was right. Schuyler has a really small part as a little girl who plays ball with the 3 main kids. She was really adorable in it.

^ Trading Mom?! I love that movie!!! Anyhoo. I will never, ever forget the moment I found out about the movie. I was seeing the Lion King with cousins, and in the lobby of theatre was the BSC movie poster. I hadn't heard that they were making a movie, so you can only imagine how shocked I was. I just stood there, in the middle of a crowd, and stared at it. I actually got seperated from my cousins and was lost for a bit, since I was visiting my cousins and therefore wasn't familiar with the theatre, but I didn't care. Wow. It's actually sad I remember that much detail. I loved the movie when it came out. I saw it opening night with my (then) best friend, who also loved the BSC. I thought it was the greatest thing in life, ever. Now, though...of course I love it, but it's not a good movie. There are so, so many inconsistencies from the books - like, as someone mentioned, Claud's Nancy Drews out in the open, Jessi going to the Stoneybrook Dance Academy...don't the girls knock on the door when they go to the meeting in the opening scenes? (It's been a while since I've seen it) Still...I think it's cute, and reading this thread totally makes me want to see it again. Oh, and not that it matters, but...you know when the girls 'rescue' Kristy from the side of the road, and they're wearing, like, sailor hats and trench coats and other random stuff? Well, one of the girls (Claudia, I'm pretty sure) is wearing a white shower cap with multi-coloured polka dots on it. And...I totally have that same shower cap. I am so cool. My Shower CapOh yeah, also: did anyone else notice how much plaid the girls wear? It's particularly noticable in first scene of the link...

Bit off topic, but Fluffycakes I like your signature! Wicked is one of my favourite shows too

^ Thanks! I looove Wicked. Have you seen it? I saw it this past fall, and it was amazing. By the way, I like your signature, too! ;D
Topic? Alex Mack as Dawn. I actually really liked that casting choice, but probably because I was a huge AM fan, and Dawn is one of my favourites! I wish they'd given her a bigger part, it would've been fun to see militant or extremely bitchy Dawn on screen.

I still love this movie to this day. I always have noticed the inconsistencies but I never let them bother me because this movie is still one of my favorites.

I know I've said it before, but I was EXTREMELY disappointed to see Alex Mack as Dawn. She just didn't seem like my Dawn. And her hair wasn't even white and straight. It was dirty blonde and wavy. hmph. Alex Mack is not my Dawn Schafer.

I loved Alex Mack, but I agree with all of the above...she just didn't LOOK like dawn...they could've at least tried to make her hair...umm....straight...and ...whiter... Acting wise I thought she was fine...but...how she looked always irked me. Melissa Chasse who played dawn in the series looked like how I imagined dawn should look like...but then there was that east coast accent... *sigh* Did any of y'all ever figure out who the hell was Charlotte in the movie? She's listed in the credits...and I was like "Where in the world? " it seemed weird that it was Rosie in there and not Charlotte... *just shakes head* Some of the major clients weren't prevalent in this movie. The series at least tried to showcase a lot of the major clients (although I never saw any of the Pike boys...haha identical triplets would be pretty hard though).

I never could figure it out. It always bugged me that Charlotte wasn't featured in the movie. I would have liked to have seen the triplets but identical triplets are pretty rare so I guess that's why they didn't make an appearance.

I think Charlotte was the one who whispered when she spoke and some other girl spoke up for her... Yep I saw Wicked in London in February... it was amazing

Never thought of that. I guess I never saw her as being that quiet.

I thought about that but that didn't make much sense...I mean she was comfortable with the other sitters, especially STacey, and she knew most of the kids... if That WAS her that was a terrible misrepresentation of her!

I didn't like the way Vanessa was portrayed in the movie. I never saw her as having red hair and glasses like Mallory.
