Hee, I never heard of the BSC movie before until I was in the video store with my father, renting a movie. I saw it and almost had a heart attack, I was that excited to watch it. I loved it, so much. And then a few months or so later, I rented it again. A couple years ago, I found it in a flea market somewhere so I bought it ;D I still love it, even if I do notice the inconsistencies. Something that bugged me though, even as a kid, was that we didn't see more of the regular clients. We only saw Karen and Andrew one time. Where were the Newtons, the Perkins? There were so many other people (not just clients, but even other family members of the girls) that we could have seen.
I think they should make a movie of one of the books, maybe a Super Special. That would rock!

I acn't explain how excited I was when I found out about the movie... I still remember watching the opening credits at the movies!

I remember being at the video rental store with my friend. We could never, ever agree on a movie to get. Like the 3rd time we had circled the whole store, I pointed to the movie on the shelf and said (kinda sarcastically, we were 15 and I didn't want her to think I was uncool. ) "Hey, Baby-Sitters Club." To my surprise she slowly reached for it and said "I kinda wanted to see this." So we rented it and watched it on the little TV/VCR combo she had in her bedroom. Her older sister wandered into the room during the opening credits and stood in the doorway watching the first 20 minutes before my friend told her to go away. ;D

I only saw this movie once and it was back in 97-98 when I was first getting into LS and BSC. I'd rented it at the video store because it had the BSC on it and wanted to see what it was about. I'd only read a few regular BSC books before seeing it so I couldn't find too many glaring inconsistencies. Now though, if I see it again I'll probably find a lot more problems with it lol ;D.

I even have the soundtrack...on a cassette. Ahh, the good old days of rewind and fast-forward. I saw it in theaters and at the time it was one of the greatest moments of my life. Hahaha.

I own it on both VHS and DVD but I've only seen it once so far. It just feels like I've seen it a lot more times than that because I've read what other people have said about it so much!

I taped it when it was first on TV. I saw it a lot after I first taped it, but don't know where it is now. *sigh* Probably in the mess that is my basement.

I used to work in a cheapo department store called The Warehouse and I found the video and I really, really wanted to buy it but I think I was too embarressed to or something and then it dissapeared and the last of the video stock was sold and we never got anymore videos in again! I would love to find it on DVD I didnt even know it WAS on DVD!
I've only watched this movie a few times and I can't remember a thing about it except for Kristy waiting for her dad to show up in the rain and the BSCers rescuing her, and also something about Cokie wanting to set off a stink bomb to ruin the play group or something?? Classy, Cokie!

^Lol icequeen. I used to work at a video rental place and I would go rent my movies at the place across town because I didn't want my co-workers making fun of my rental choices. The things we miss out on because of embarrassment!

I don't miss out on checking out any library books because of embarrassment. My co-workers even know that if we get any donations of used BSC or SV books, to let me know about it first.
But... last week someone in circulation said there was a book on hold for me, and it turned out to be something that I hadn't put on hold at all. It must have been something that someone meant to reserve for a patron, but my account must have still been on the screen and they forgot to swipe the patron's card or something. The book was called something like Ten Tips for Self-Esteem. Maybe if I actually had more self-esteem, I wouldn't find this embarrassing at all, but I found it horribly embarrassing that co-workers thought I was reading some self-esteem book when I wasn't. Oh, well. At least it wasn't, like, about bladder control or something worse.

I was watching an episode of "thirtysomething" on YouTube and Melanie Mayron, the director of the movie, is a character on this show along with Peter Horton, who plays Patrick. The actor who plays Watson was on the episode I saw too. Love how she wanted former castmates in the film, not people who actually LOOK the part...for example we all know Watson is balding, he does not have a full head of white hair like the actor did!

So I just watched this movie again for the first time in years. I was surprised by how familiar it was. And how much I teared up all throughout it (I am so lame ). Anyway, some observations: Kristy - Pretty spot on, and a good actress. Where were Sam and Charlie? Claudia - This actress was so pretty. I really liked the Claud/Kristy scenes. MA - Pretty meek and MA like, but she was the only character (apart from Mal and Jessi) that didn't really have her own storyline. Oh, and her glassses were so gross. Stacey - Pretty as well, her hair was so cute. Very in character. Dawn - Pretty spot on, apart from the Alan thing. Jessi - Did anyone else think Jessi got alot of the humourous lines? Actually looked and acted 11. Mal - Writing a novel about the first nurse in the US? She seemed like the smartest BSC member. Also looked and acted 11. But since when do the Pike's own a cabin? The group hug with Luca was kinda creepy... I mean, he's got his arms around the group? A group of 13 and 11 year olds? Oh, and when they say how next summer, Stacey will be 14, and Luca will be 18, how is that better? On her part, yes, on his, no... Maybe cause I live in a country where 18 is the legal age, it seems worse to me? Cokie's clothes were pretty awesome, as was her hair, lol. But I checked the credits, and her friends were Bebe and Grace? Grace, yes, Bebe, wtf?

There is actually a Bebe that sits with Cokie and Grace at lunch...it's mentioned in Kristy's Mystery Admirer.

I loved this movie when it came out! Schyler Fisk was spot on with Kristy and Zelda Harris was perfect for Jessi!
