^Yeah, there are a lot of urban legends involving death and movies. But I know for a fact that there was no death on the set of The Wizard of Oz, despite the rather persistent claim.

^Isn't there a random peacock (or some other large bird) roaming around in the background of one of the scenes? It wandered over from another set or something. And I think the Tin Man had to be re-cast because the original guy got sick from his lead make up.

I've heard that before about the Tin Man being recast. Next time I watch it I will have to look out for the peacock.

The original Tin Man was going to be Buddy Epson, who was allergic to the makeup for tin man. I think it actually had lead or aluminum in it. I learned that from "House, MD". The munchkin suicide rumor has something to do with a shadow seen in the background. Some of the theories include an escaped bird from a different scene and a stage hand running around backstage. The rumor/urban legend was way more interesting though.

I remember hearing about the Tin Man on some sort of making of Wizard of Oz special on TV when I was a little kid. Also that the actress who played the Wicked Witch suffered third degree burns to her face in the scene where she disappears in the orange smoke, because of the copper in her makeup.

I've just noticed a couple of things about the kids that were cast as the campers: Madison Fisk (Schulyer's sister) was a camper. So was 2 of Kevin Costner's daughters. Kyla Pratt (from One on One) played Becca. A few of the kids have never done anything besides that movie.

It was released to theatres in summer 1995, I remember it was around the same time as clueless. I was devastated that I didn't get a chance to see it in the theatres, but when I got it on tape I wasn't that happy with it though I still liked it and watched it again 2 years ago for old times sake. I was getting mad at all the inconsistencies.
