I just saw this episode for the first time this evening. It was so hilarious! The basic gist of it is that the BSC is overbooked and Shannon is out of town, so they are in desperate need of some help. Alan Gray and Pete Black volunteer to fill in, with "disastrous" results. Some highlights:
* Kristy and Pete need to get a room. It's pretty blatant. Despite her poorly masked distain, Krisy totally looks like she's going to jump him any second now. (I can't say I blame her. TV Pete was kind of cute!) * Logan's fake southern accent has disappeared completely by this point. Apparently, New Jersey Daw's accent is contagious. * Speaking of Logan, for some reason, he and Mary Anne are "studying" in a remote part of the house, on a couch, alone, and Richard doesn't have a problem with that. * The boy sitters are a lot of fun, and the kids (Charlotte, Becca, and the Rodowsky boys) totally like them way better than the girls. * Alan taught Charlotte and Becca how to play poker using candy instead of money, and Stacey accuses the guys of teaching them to "gamble... with their health!" The girls in general are sanctimonious (shocking) and annoying. I can totally see why the kids like the boy sitters better. * It culminates with the BSC letting the boy sitters take five kids (the Rodowskys, even!) to a game center on a Saturday afternoon without any warning of how crazy it would be. Who's irresponsible now?
All in all, a pretty awesome episode. Was this in the books ever?

I don't think it ever was, but I just loved this episode. It's one that I had on tape, so I've seen it about 75 times.
Isn't this the one with Stacey's cheer?
Go back Go back Go back into the woods 'Cuz you haven't You haven't You haven't got the goods!
I will remember that for the rest of my life.

I seriously need to get my hands on this video. I always thought it was funny when I was a kid.

Alan wasn't really how I pictured him, but I also thought TV Pete was kind of cute.

Fluffycakes, yes, that was the one. It was so lame, but the rest of the BSC thought it was the greatest cheer ever. Also msstock87, send me a message if you're interested in it.

I picture Alan as looking more like Movie Alan than the Alan in this episode. Not that I picture him as looking exactly like Alan in the movie. Just more like that than like TV Alan.

Sometimes I almost catch myself saying it after I say "go back" for some reason, but then I catch myself and realize that's too lame even for me! Does anyone else remember making french toast with the spilled milk? I thought that was the coolest thing EVER.

I LOVED that episode! I think it was my favorite- besides the Mary Anne and the Brunettes one. Didn't they teach the kids to climb trees and Jackie climbed onto the roof or did I just imagine that?

I would spill milk and break an egg on the table because I thought that's how it was SUPPOSED to be done.

Anybody have any pictures of Pete Black in this show? I don't think there were any real pictures or descriptions of him in the books.

Pete Black for some reason reminded me a bit of Keanu Reeves...hehe...maybe a young Keanu...I bet if I saw a photo now I might not think it though

I watched this about a week ago and thought he was actually pretty cute. And total word about him and Kristy needing to get a room! I IMDB'd the guy after I watched it but didn't find much. Unfortunately I can't remember his name right now, and googling failed me, so I can't post the link.

He's the one on the right. Look at them making googly eyes at each other while Alan is RIGHT THERE. His name is Dave Buzzotta, and he looks like this now.
