;D
Something about this kitten has always bugged me - and no, not the fact that he remained a kitten for over 10 yrs. It was that when Mary Anne selected him, she made a point of saying "I wanted a grey striped kitten to name after Tigger the tiger from Winnie the Pooh" and specifically DID NOT choose the two ginger cats. Tigger the tiger is orange. Why did MA specifically want a grey cat?

He didn't really bug me, just when MA got all anoying about 'looook how cute my cat is! look everyone!!'... but maybe I was just jealous because I always wanted a Tiger cat myself. I have always wondered, though, why Tigger was grey! When MA wanted a cat like Tigger the tiger, I mean. Maybe she looked at winnie the pooh on a black and white tv?

Because orange is baaad. Must like calm, inconspicuous, quiet colors like grey.

I love how Mary Anne is always buying Tigger new toys and treats because I am the same way with my kitten. To be honest, I never really cared to read about Tigger until I got my own kitty, but now I totally relate to Mary Anne's annoying obsession with him.

I loooove how Mary Anne takes care of and babies Tigger! And I don't even like cats. She is so sweet to him, I love in Dawn's Family Feud when she insists he be in their family photo. hehe

^ I loved that too. Although I kind of thought that she did it in order to have someone on her side since Dawn had Jeff on hers. And Tigger is really cute. I've always wondered where Tigger slept. Hmm. I always imagined it to be on the end of her bed. I dunno.

In Dawn's Wicked Stepsister, they mentioned that Tigger sleeps with MA every night - IN her bed, which was full of cat hair. Yuck. My cats sleep sprawled all over our bed, but under the blankets is a bit... odd.

My friend had a cat and she would sometimes find it on her face when she wakes up in the morning.

I never thought about the cat being a grey tiger but that is a good point. I am not a fan of Tigger or any of the pets for that matter. "Emily Junior" makes me laugh sometimes and I did enjoy it when Squirt put the hamsters together in the cage and said "same" because he was watching Seseme Street. The thought of pets in the house really grosses me out, so that is probably why I don't like them in the books. Also, I am allergic to dogs and really dislike them. I tolorate cats but only in the barn. The thought of cat hair in MA's bed made me cringe! It also sometimes bugs me the way Mary Anne seems a little ... obsessive ... over Tigger. I have been known to talk baby-talk to pets but sometimes MA seems a little extreme about it.

^ I know what you mean. Sleeping in your own body odor is bad enough (I only wash my sheets once a week.). Why do we need cat hair on top of it? I like Tigger because it seems to be a nice change of pace to have a cat instead of all of these dogs as pets in Stoneybrooke. The hamsters don't get that much air-time in the books.

I've never thought about it. I think she just wanted it for the stripes. That's exactly how I was when I got my cat (yes- I did name him Tigger). He was tiny and grey w/ the dark grey strips. So cute. Now he's a 20 pound cat without any stripes....I guess they just faded into his coat. He's so sweet though.

I went through a stage of changing them three times a week (every other day), but I've cut it down to twice a week. mcpon, I think once a week is fairly normal for most people. But I couldn't sleep in a bed of cat hair. No way. Just one of those things. I'd rather Stacey's insulin injections!

I HATED how she'd let Tigger wander around outside (especially in Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger). You just don't do that with cats. It's amazing that Charlie Thomas or someone else didn't come zooming down the street and squish him accidentally.
I am a cat owner and totally understand her toy buying, baby-talking obsession with him. I also understand that it's really annoying for other people to listen to. I don't think cat hair is gross, I just own a million lint brushes.

^ oh... I've always had cats and they go outside... we don't have kitty litter or anything like that. I didn't know there was anything wrong with letting cats wander outside. Hmmm. This has me worried now. But where I live, you always see pet kitties wandering around or baking themselves in the sun. For a while, we lived in an apartment where the cats couldn't get out and all I ever heard was constant bitching from friends/family/acquaintances about how selfish and cruel we were to have cats inside all the time
