I always hated when MA would call Tigger "Mousekins". For some reason, this always drove me crazy too. In fact, I got annoyed any time MA talked to Tigger and couldn't stand the cat in general. Don't know why I despised this relationship between Tig and MA but for it really bugged me. Maybe I'll have to reread MA and the Search for Tigger again to see what my thoughts are. I remember hating that book especially.

^ I wasn't particularly fond of MA/Tigger either, which is strange because I do love cats.

What I don't like about Tigger is that he doesn't do anything. I wonder what he does with the toys that MA gives him?

This annoys me to no end because it makes no sense. What is a "mousekin"? And why refer to a cat as such?
Oh...wait...is it because Ann M.'s cat was named Mouse and she likely called him "Mousekins"?

I always thought it was funny in Dawn's Wicked Stepsister when Sharon gets all mad because Tigger throws up on her rug. Then Mary Anne gets all upset.

I love my cats, but Mary Anne annoyed me to no end with the Tigger stuff. I always wished they'd age him up to be a "cat" in later books. And it bugged me that she'd let a tiny kitten out of the yard alone. An adult cat is one thing, but a teeny kitten is just plain irresponsible. Plus the reasoning behind it was asinine. He's a KITTY. Take your daddy issues elsewhere, jeez.

I never really had a problem with Tigger, but I didn't have any strong feelings towards him either way. Personally I am a cat lover and I know what it is like to be attached to them, however I think Mary Anne's relationship with him was a bit unrealistic.

I thought he was cute and non-annoying in The Fire at Mary Anne's House, but mostly, he bugs me.

Take your daddy issues elsewhere, jeez. I totally agree!! No matter how safe Stoneybrook is, it is NOT safe to let a young kitten outside alone. What was Mary Anne's reasoning behind it? I hate to say it, but sometimes the way Mary Anne is with Tigger reminds me of how I am with my three cats. I know, I know. I even annoy myself with it sometimes, and I KNOW I annoy other people. haha.

I like Tigger and I don't even like cats. he sounds really cute and I LOVE how MA is so obsessed with him, I think it's adorable! I don't understand the Tigger-hate! He's just a baby!

Agree with this! One of my favorite Tigger mentions is in MA Misses Logan (I think she calls him Mousekins in this book, which as I've said before bugs me, but ah well), when she is so stressed out over the group project and he's in her lap, purring. He's practically working a hole into her sweater, too, but MA doesn't care because she just wants the comfort of her kitty. Aww...
I also like when she's being a spaz in MA's Bad Luck Mystery, falling off her bed, banging into chairs, and she startles him so much he finally just bolts from the room. Haha.

I suppose if I had a perma-kitten, I would be obsessed with him too. Kittens are so darn loveable.

In what book does Mary Anne get Tigger? I'm rereading Kristy's Great Idea and I'm at the part where Mary Anne is babysitting for Karen and Andrew and Kristy mentions that Mary Anne has never owned a cat before.
