I just had a thought last night. Stoneybrook is a small community, right?
Stoneybrook is not that tiny...not everyone knows everyone in Stoneybrook.
Stoneybrook is not the sticks and is not a one-horse town.
Okay, MD is well to do, lives in a Victorian mansion in Watson's affluent neighborhood.
Dawn's grandfather, Pop-Pop - Sharon's dad - is a banker, obviously he had money to.
Sharon's maiden name is Porter. MD's last name is Porter. Think their related?
This would make Dawn a relative of Morbidda Destiny! Imagine if Karen came up with that theory! She'd freak out every time she saw Dawn!
No, Sharon and Tabitha Porter...Morbidda's real name...are not necessarily related simply because they have the same last name.
Porter is actually a very common surname.
I never, ever caught the last name thing! Porter is a pretty common name, though.
It is...which is why they are not necessarily related...and Stoneybrook is not so tiny that anyone with the same last name must be related.
"Morbidda Destiny" is very musical name.
😅😅😅😅 It is!

I wonder what Mrs. Porter's real name is. I'm sure it's something dull like Alice or Sue.If my neighbor's bratty little kid kept spying on me I'd be very annoyed. Watson's family must really drive property values down on their street with a couple of junky
cars - the Junk Bucket, the Pink Clinker - always parked outside and the annoying kids who were constantly playing outside and likely screaming their heads off. No need to use an indoor voice outside, after all!
I wouldn't mind. It's NICE that the Brewers' neighborhood has old cars and kids playing outside!
My neighborhood has old cars and kids playing outside often and it never bothers me.
I guess you don't like kids too much, Scrounge. 😩😩😩
Maybe you'd like Sweet Valley better where they have rich, stuffy neighborhoods around Fowler Crest mansion.
I hope you don't advocate that kids be kept inside under lock and key.
One thing I really love about the BSC series...they're down-to-Earth, even the well-to-do characters and I like that even in Watson and Tabitha's well-to-do neighborhood, most of the people there are not snobbish.
I'm glad that Watson and Elizabeth, the Papidikases, the Stevensons, the Hsus and the Kilbournes are not picky about "property values" and are not obsessed with turning their homes into pristine showplaces.
I'm glad the kids there are allowed to play outside, run around, make noise and be free to get dirty.
I'm glad that the McLelland Court area is not stuffy just because the people there are well-to-do.
She had her moments where she was just a sweet older lady, albeit a tad eccentric - like MJs character Maestro, whom I just love - but honestly, half of the time she did give ppl good reason to be afraid of her, hell, even Mary Anne was kind of unnerved...also Mary Anne had mentioned the reason Karen and her friends thought that was because of appearance..and the big kids told Karen she was too, and considering she was only five at the time, of course she'd believe it if presented with enough evidence.
True...small kids often what older kids tell them.
Tabitha did spook timid Mary Anne at first.
But yes, Tabitha was actually a muggle and turned out to be nice.
Perhaps, if the BSC had met the Harry Potter gang in the series time, they'd be able to explain to Karen that actually most witches are good, not evil.
I thought she was a nice lady particularly in Karen's Cartwheel. I like that she had this small bonding moment with Karen in the book. She seems lonely and a bit eccentric so visitors would probably make her day a lot better.
Agreed...I was glad to see that Tabitha did have her garden club.
It's not healthy for people to be socially isolated.
I can see Karen and Tabitha bonding as Karen grows older and sees that one, Tabitha is actually a muggle and two, that most witches are good.
