I was just really excited to see the name Cary used for a male character. It's one of my all-time favorite "guy names" (might have something to do with my love for Cary Grant...) even though it's almost always used for girls (Kerry, Carrie, etc.)

I've never thought of this, probably because I have never heard of Cary as a male name, either. I do like it better than "K" Kerry for a girl, though. Too bad they had to use a nice name (sounds kind of like a "nice" name instead of a villian name to be) on a character that creeps me out. He's certainly no Cary Grant. What do you think of him?

I don't remember him from the regular series too much (I have yet to read most of the books after #100) but I do like him in the FF books. I just finished reading "Claudia Gets Her Guy" and I liked how Cary told Claudia that he didn't want her to lead Alan on because he was he friend and he didn't want to see him get hurt etc.

^ That does sound like Cary was trying to be nice but for some reason, that is always when I get worried ... like "what is his real motive?" Probably just is really Alan's friend, though. I think I remember something about him and Alan from Fright Night. One question I had while reading Cat Burglar is where does Cary live? In that one, it mentioned him living near Kristy but I thought he lived across the street from Luke and Amelia in Silent Witness and didn't get the impression that they lived in Kristy's neighborhood. Maybe another case of Stoneybrook's mutable neighborhood shapes or an inconsistency???

I don't remember Cary at all and I'm pretty sure I've read the FF book(s?) he's in. I like Cary as a guys name as well, but my sisters name is Kari, heh.

Kristy power! Is basically all about cary and kristy, and he also plays a large part in mary anne's revenge. Plus he goes mini-golfing with the bsc in claudia and the disaster date.

Kristy Power is sitting on my shelf right now (one of the 3 FF books I own...) and I don't remember a thing about it. Maybe I'll read it again so I can have an actual opinion on Cary

One thing I always wondered about Cary: why did he really leave Illinois? The question came up in "Kristy Power!" and was never answered (at least that I know of). Maybe it wasn't answered just so he'd seem more mysterious? I don't know.

He is mentioned in Babysitters Beware and honestly I have only read a couple books featuring him so maybe I'm not making a fair judgement but he seriously sounds like a sociopathic CREEEEEEEEEP.
According to the Complete Guide is brothers are named Benson and Steig. Um. Okaaaay...

I wasn't too crazy about Cary before, even though I haven't read too many books with him in it. I hated him in Kristy in Charge, although I found it hilarious that he started a conga line in gym class. But after reading Kristy Power! the other day, I kind of like him. I had to laugh in the end, when Kristy found out the truth about his journal. I love reading about Kristy and Cary's friendship....if you can call it that. They definitely have some chemistry.

I didn't think much of Cary when I was little (I don't think I read too many of the books he appeared in), but I really like him now, quite a bit more than Alan, actually. Alan pulls the kind of pranks that just annoy me (spaghetti down people's backs, fake vomit, etc.), but Cary puts more thought into his, and it- like someone upthread said- makes him intriguing. Where did he learn all these things? Why does he bother putting effort into that kind of stuff? Kristy Power! turned me into a Kristy/Cary 'shipper, but I do see a possibility of Mary Anne/Cary (Possibly from paying too much attention to tiny details.). ... Actually, (And I hope you can forgive me, aln1982, because I've seen that you dislike him I could see him with quite a few of the girls. I don't know why.
