Am I missing the thread for him? I might be alone but I like Alan. He is a pest, I think, because he likes the girls and doesn't know how to act around them - typical middle school boy. I see him and Kristy as a good match. Didn't she say in one of the first books that she went to dances and stuff with him? I love their scenes in Fright Night and thought Alan was really sweet helping the kids with their Haunted House in (I think) MA to the Rescue (or MA Breaks the Rules).

I love Alan. He was in my "I'd date him" category in that other thread.
Although I disagree on you with the Kristy thing. Alan + Abby = <3

Kristy and Alan all the way.
Love him, Phantom Phone Calls, and Fright Night. Even Jessi's Gold Medal.

Didn't he go out with Claudia eventually? If so, how did that happen?

It was in the Friends Forever series, near the very end. Claudia was leaving a note for Jeremy, who she liked, asking him to a dance, and she put it in Alan's locker by mistake, so he believed it was for him. I don't think Claudia ever told him the truth (thought all the BSC girls knew and Cary knew also). So he took her to the dance and Claudia ended up liking him and a few books later, they were actually a couple, that's how the series ended, them together. They were an odd pairing but kind of cute. Alan started to become really sweet during that time.

Alan love:
Fright Night - the Kristy/Alan/Cary stuff is fantastic. Genius on Elm Street - the crude drawings he tapes up at Claudia's art show. Kristy for President - demonstrating his presidential skills by commanding everyone to stand up and sit back down. European Vacation - tying a kerchief over his mouth and speaking nonsense at the airport. Phantom Phone Calls and Stacey's Movie - so sweet/nervous/misunderstood.

Glad to see I'm in good company with liking Alan. I don't see Abby and Alan but haven't really looked. Maybe because I'm so convinced he belongs with Kristy. Something about their supposed "hate" relationship.

i liked alan too. he was funny. and it was cool when he and kristy dated for one book or whatever. and kristy was always talking about him - it seemed like she was obsessed with him and how he was always picking on her.
and i remember when he dated claudia, kristy was acting all weird. maybe she was jealous?

I am reading Claudia Gets Her Guy right now, and I'm just at the part where Claudia discovers that Alan has already read the note. Kristy's saying that he might copy it a hundred times and put it all over the school, or post it on his Web site, and I'm thinking, I wonder if Kristy's saying that because she knows that Alan Gray really does have a web site, and if so, I wonder what's on it...

It's so weird how the later books have stuff like the internet. When I think BSC, they're always still stuck in the 80s. But yes, a web site by Alan Gray would definitely be...interesting to say the least.
I also love how seriously he and Kristy took the egg baby project in Too Many Babies. One of the rare times they actually got along.
I think it's pretty funny that of all the guys in Stoneybrook, Alan's thread is the one that results in several romantic pairings. I bet he'd love that.

I love Alan. In the rpg where I play him, he's dating Mary Anne. He is so much fun in the books. I think my favorite with him is Kristy For President because I like his campaign speech. And for the discussion on him having a web page, just check out www.alangray.com It's for some financial services company. Little does this guy know.

omg I despise Alan Gray!!! He is so obnoxious! I hate him in the movie, especially. And I HATE when he dated Claudia. So dumb! Aggggh my Alan hate is strong. To me he doesn't seem cute or funny, he just seems immature and obnoxious.
