I've always liked the Alan and Kristy love hate realtionship. I thought ti was weird when he and Claudia began going out in the FF series.

Wow, I had no idea everybody liked Alan so much! I was kind of neutral about him in the books, but I hated him in the movie. The suspenders and the bowtie were totally ridiculous. They made him way too over-the-top. He was ok in MA + Too Many Babies, but he was annoying in some of the other books.

I forgot about Alan and Kristy in Too Many Babies - naming the egg. I loved them in that book! You're right that Alan could be annoying.

Kristy and Alan as parents - hilarious.

Just read Kristy and the Sister War and loved it how Kristy pulled Alan onto the dance floor and started dancing with him to get the kids to compromise at the "All Stoneybrook Dance" meeting. These two make such a good couple. Hopefully someday Alan will outgrow his obnoxious tendencies - he showed promise as a dad in Mary Anne and Too Many Babies. But I think Kristy likes being annoyed by him. I really like these two together. Any other good books that show them as a "couple"?

They first go out in Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls (the the Halloween Hop that starts at 4:00 ;D) and to another dance (Final Fling I think) in Kristy's Big Day. But Kristy says she's fed up with him by Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery. Although I think the books where they tease each other is cute, e.g. Jessi's Gold Medal.

I love how Alan lost the bet, and was her slave in the book.

I loved how he dressed in balloons and let kids who wore "Vote For Alan" pins pop them in Kristy for President. Stupid but original. This really made me laugh.

when I was younger, I thought Alan was obnoxious and annoying. Now that I am older and re reading the books I find him entertaining. I think him and Kristy together would be interesting to say the least.

I just read Aloha Babysitters and it seems like everyone is yelling at or getting annoyed by Alan. Poor Alan Sure, he is obnoxious but I think he's also the one people take their frustrations out on ("Alan, stop being annoying!" "Alan is the biggest pest.") I think he just has that reputation - although it is funny to read how the others are annoyed and makes him a more interesting, and surprisingly more likable in my opinion, character. Personally, I think that Pete Black is much more annoying in some of the books. Isn't he the bra strap snapper?

I'm an Alan fan! I used to hate him, but now that I'm older, I have a new-found appreciation for him. He and Kristy so should've hooked up. When I read Kristy's Mystery Admirer, I was incredibly disappointed that the love letter was from Bart and not Alan. Boo.
My favourite Alan moment is actually in the book where Lynn is born (#98, the name of the book escapes me right now). While in Philidelphia, Alan decides to test the echo of an alley by neighing like a horse. For some reason, that still cracks me up to this day.

I don't think anyone's mentioned my favorite Alan moment -- his sabotage of Claudia's art show in Claudia and the Genius of Elm Street. I can keep a straight face when I read about the gum on the floor and the dead cat picture, but I always lose it at the drawing of the man eating candy and saying "Mmm!"

Peter Lerangis will always have my love for giving us that eternal gem.
I love Alan's entrance too:

I love Alan too. He seems to be the most fun person in the series.
