for me it's the fact that samantha was okay sneaking around, and didn't insist on doing things out in the open. if my boyfriend wanted me to go behind his kid's back because he wasn't sure how she would react to me, i wouldn't be okay with that. i wouldn't want to be a secret. I would think if he was sneaking around with me then nothing was stopping him from sneaking around with other women too.

Did the books ever mention where Ed and Maureen are from originally? I'm guessing it's not likely they were born and raised in NYC, since I'm assuming the majority of adult professionals living in NYC are not from there originally. I'd be really curious where they grew up.

I thought it was mentioned though that Maureen didn't learn to drive until she was 25 and their relatives also are mentioned as living there in #3.

I've always pictured Samantha being really young (like 26 or 27). In my own weird mind, she has long, naturally straight, fine, dirty blonde hair, big, wide, shimmering brown eyes, and olive skin with a simple on her left cheek. Too much info, I know, lol.
I don't like Mr. McGill either. I can definitely see Samantha as a trophy girlfriend and Mr. McGill "using" younger women. I can so see him as a flirty type of a guy.

I like Samantha okay... which is why I wish she wasn't dating Mr. McGill, because I don't like him! Samantha needs to run, just like Zoey should have from Patrick Thomas!

I like Samantha even though I don't get why she agreed to sneak around, but she seemed like a trophy wife for Ed. Maybe I always pictured her around her mid to late twenties meanwhile he's probably pushing forty.

I wonder if Samantha and Ed ended up divorced a few years later.
Now I sort of am picturing Ed today married to a woman his age with two grown kids who are several years older than Stacey.

I can see them having one kid before another messy divorce. Maybe it’s because I just don’t like Ed.

In my own weird mind, she has long, naturally straight, fine, dirty blonde hair, big, wide, shimmering brown eyes, and olive skin with a dimple on her left cheek. Too much info, I know, lol. I pictured Samantha as being around Ed's age with maybe reddish or dark hair, brown eyes and an olive complexion. Somehow, I imagined her as having two grown kids from a previous marriage and sort of being a business associate of Ed's. That's how I imagine Ed and Samantha and their relationship. Is it ever explained how old Samantha is? Maybe she is like a trophy wife lol Samantha may be around Ed's age, but only appears younger...who knows? We could even find out a bit later that Samantha is widowed and has grown kids from that previous marriage.
