I hear the voices of the characters in my head when I'm reading the books but the BSC members all sound the same

I imagine Mary Anne to have a soft-spoken voice while Kristy has a loud voice. Abby would have a loud voice but when her allergies are kicking up, she would speak nasally.

^That's pretty much how they were written, though.

When I read Logan's Story I read him having the same accent as Moto GP rider Nicky Hayden (who has the most amazing accent), who is from Kentucky - I was half way through the book before I realised I was doing it.

I think Mary Anne would be a mumbler or talk in a little baby voice. Either way would be annoying.

Does anyone remember the BSC CD-ROM game on the computer, or some website in the late 90s to 2000s where you heard the BSC members voices? I remember not liking it because it WASN'T what I pictured them sound like, at all! And the photos were horrible. I think they were all in picture frames of some-sort. Ugh.

Karen's would be loud... that's for sure! I think Mal would have a nasal-sounding voice. Claire would have a high, giggly voice. Charlotte would have a quiet, soft voice that you have to really listen to, to hear every word.

Mary Anne would have a quiet voice and her sentences would get softer and softer until you could barely hear the last part.
Kristy - loud, of course.
I could see Claudia and Stacey being fast talkers. I think one book said Stacey didn't have a New York accent despite being a native, so I've never imagined her with one.
Dawn - I'm not sure. Has anyone here seen those SNL skits "The Californians"? Maybe something like that, lol! ;D

It always REALLY bothered me that Dawn has such a non California accent in the TV show. The obnoxiousness of her character is accurate, but that is SO NOT A WEST COAST ACCENT. She would definitely have a California accent (sounds like generic "American accent" with a slight hint of Valley Girl undertones and frequent useage of the words "bummer", "awesome", "totally", and "dude"-- and yes, this is the accent I have myself, and I'm from the bay area, not even LA! I didn't think I had a regional accent until I lived in Ireland for a year and everyone made fun of me for being a "Valley Girl", even though I don't sound like one at all. Anyway...)
Most of the other ones I picture as being pretty true to their TV show voices, because that's what I've heard the most I guess... haha. Abby should probably have a NY/Long Island accent, so I imagine her talking ("tawking") the way my friend from LI talks.

^lol, yeah, I find it pretty funny how in the show Dawn has a pretty noticeable NY accent.
Logan is funny in the show too, because he speaks with a pretty average, nondescript US accent, but every now and then it's like he remembers "Oh wait, I'm supposed to have a Southern accent" and he'll say a word or too where he's trying to sound Southern. Then he reverts back to his normal speaking voice.

^ My niece and I used to watch my BSC tapes when she was little and she'd always make fun of Logan's exaggerated accent. She'd make me imitate Logan's line in Mary Anne and the Brunettes where he said "That's why I like you" because he said it like "That's whaaaa ahhhh laahhke you."

I hated how Logan said Mary Anne's name. "Mary A-Onnn." Like Avon without the v.
