^ ;D Love it and also hadn't thought of it. And that makes me think of the Pikes' ice cream stop on the way to Sea City. Maybe he can get them something free ;D

Is the ice cream place named Howard's or something like that?

^ They stopped at a Howard Johnsons on the way to Sea City. Isn't that where they lost Claire for a bit?

Never thought about Howard Johnsons' having a place where you could get ice cream. Of course, the only HoJo's I ever knew about was a hotbed for prostitution.

Is it wrong that my brain connected the "Isn't that where they lost Claire for a bit?" and "Of course, the only HoJo's I ever knew about was a hotbed for prostitution." comments?

It may be wrong, but that's hilarious.

Love it, Gracie ;D I never realized that Howard Johnsons really had ice cream places, either. I though it was something made up for the books until my parents were discussing it one day and I was like “that’s real? The Pikes go there!” Of course, my dad was shocked to learn that they don’t still have one in the town near us (along with many other things like this that he remembers from 30 + years ago. I’m always waiting for him to say “McDonalds has seating INSIDE?” ;D) Yes, this is the place where they lose Claire. Can't remember if it was in Sea City Here We Come, Boy Crazy Stacey or MA and Too Many Boys, though.

He sits with Stacey and Claudia during lunch in 7th, and aside from Goodbye, Stacey, Goodbye, I can't recall him being featured much elsewhere. In that book he and Stacey go out on library dates, I think, until he starts "seeing" Dorianne Wallingford and then Stacey calls them the King and Queen Rats. He buys a ring that used to belong to Stacey at her garage sale to give to Dori. King and Queen Rats? Haha, oh Stacey. With nicknames like that, no wonder you hung out with the bad crowd for a while. That is a bit harsh of Howie, though, to give Dori Stacey's old ring. Not sure that I like this guy too much. He was in the Zoo Mystery, too. He was in Mary Anne's group along with Alan. He wasn't too interesting, though.

^ Forgot he was in Zoo Mystery. All I remember about him was that he lied about observing the animals and he, MA and Alan all drank from the same soda - yuck!

It's interesting how he keeps showing up in fanfics lately. He's always portrayed as someone who likes to get around.
