In Walking Disaster, the Bashers were awful to the poor Krushers. Have some questions about the Bashers that I’ve been thinking of for a while. Who did they play before the Krushers? Why aren’t they in little league, anyway, if they are older and better? Do they all live in Kristy’s neighborhood? It seems like their only role in the book is as the “Bashers”. I like the kids from the Bashers okay in Haunted Mansion but in a lot of the other books, they seem really bratty. I guess they are just filling the needed role as the “bad” rivals in those books, though ;D The whole Basher team thing seems so weird to me that I probably shouldn’t think too much about it but just accept it as is – the only thing the Bashers are is a team for the Krushers to play….

You can learn more about the Bashers in the books that feature the Krashers. These Bashers seem very different from the ones we meet in Walking Disaster. For instance, the Bashers feature a girl named Patty in Haunted Mansion. Haunted Mansion is the only book in which I can remember the Krashers appearing, although honestly i find the baseball stuff boring so tend to not read it very carefully.

^ For some reason, I remember the Bashers used to play these out-of-town teams like the one the Krashers were heading to play in Kristy & Haunted Mansion before they played the Krushers. I don't like the baseball stuff either, but at least the writers don't get as technical with it as they do, say, with ballet.

Agree about the Krashers in Haunted Mansion seeming different. Maybe Bart got after them for being mean or they just decided to be nicer. Or maybe it's a different group of kids. I think that "Jerry" is mentioned in Walking Disaster and Haunted Mansion, though. I like the Bashers in Haunted Mansion, especially Patty, and wish they would have become charges, too.

yeah I'm pretty sure the dumb old Bashers played other out of town teams, but then the question arises, where did THOSE teams come from and why weren't THOSE kids in little league?! i mean geez, how many kids are in those ct subarbs who aren't in little league but STILL want to play softball? it doesn't make any sense. the bashers annoy me so much and honestly they are even more unrealistic than the krushers. kristy putting together a softball team is rather ridiculous but understandable given her character. what was bart's motivation? and I will never ever ever understand why those kids aren't in little league.

and I will never ever ever understand why those kids aren't in little league. ^ Seriously. I'm pretty sure they would let any kid in. My friend's little brother was in Little League in Montana (team name: Pork Chop Johns, hee hee) and he only hit the ball 2 times the entire season while playing in every single game. They switched him around in many different positions trying to find one that he would be competent in but to no avail.

^ Agree they usually let any kid in little league. Some of the kids on my cousins' little league teams were terrible, too. Love the name of the MT team, mcpon ;D I think the Krushers were too embarrassed to even try and some of them were too young. This doesn't seem to explain the Bashers, though. I had the same questions as sotypical. I usually just try to overlook them so not sure why this all the sudden started bothering me ;D

I have always wondered about this too.... It does seem a bit stupid. Maybe they liked Bart so much they quite Little League to join his team and play against 2 year olds... Hmm...

Don't you wish that at least two or three of the Bashers were regular BSC clients? Well, that's what I wish ;D. I'd like to know them better .

^ I definitely wish that, too. I did like how they were mentioned in Haunted Mansion. I wonder why they weren't clients and always found that a bit strange.

I actually like that the BSC didn't sit for them. To me, it showed that the BSC sits in their neighborhoods, but there is a lot more of stoneybrook then we see. They don't need to sit for every single family in town. Also, I assume that some of the Bashers have Nannies.
I figure the Bashers don't have the time to join little league, or they are in little league but the bashers are a "practice" team.

one thing that confuses me though is that in the beginning there's no girls in the bashers. and then in kristy and the haunted mansion there's patty, who plays for the bashers.
