Laura, Carolyn (?), Steve, and Alex Hatt and Mrs. Hatt.(can't remember her 1st name)
It's a shame how they were never seen or heard from again when they finally decided to stay in Stoneybrook.
I mean, they were obviously very good friends with the Kishis' turning to them when they had nowhere to stay. You would think we would have seen more of Laura in Claudia's 7th grade books. The 10yr old Caroline as a BSC sitting client or that Papa or Mama Hatt would drop by to speak to Daddy or Mama Kishi.

^ I wondered a few times about never seeing the Hatts again. Did they move away after Lighthouse Ghost? A relationship between "Teevie" and Janine might have been interesting. I don't think Claudia and Laura got along too well but there could have been some interesting interaction between them. It is a shame they weren't mentioned again, like most of the mystery characters....

For some reason, I was thinking that they were just there temporarily but that doesn't make sense why the girls would start school....

I remember the Kishis saying in the beginning of the book that they had decided to move back to Stoneybrook from Arizona.

I often wondered what happened to them too. I thought they were an interesting family and that was one of my favorite mysteries.

Claudia said that Mr. Hatt used to tell her his first name was "Cat-in-the" when she was little.

^ I remember that. I thought that was cute. ;D Like how a little girl thought my dad's name was Popeye because her dad called him that as a joke. ;D

I swear the 'cat-in-the' thing went over my head and I didn't realise what it meant for a long time. It was only until a year ago I got it. Which is ridiculous because Claudia may have explained the 'cat in the'. I never read the cat in the hat books when i was younger.
Steve and Janine's relationship is over! They had a semi relationship but Janine went back to Jerry and stuck her tounge out at Steve. (I think)

^ Car or not, Jerry was a jerk. ;D I don't remember them getting back together, either. At least they weren't in European Vacation. ;D

^definitely not!
I was kidding about the car... Jerry lost me when he said that liked Janine "in spite of" her looks. If my boyfriend ever said that to me, well, he wouldn't be my boyfriend for much longer.

If any boyfriend ever said that to me, he would be out the door so fast his head would spin.
