What's Dawn's half-sister's full name? Grace Schafer Olson? Does she have a middle name? Is her last name hyphenated? I was looking at the entry for Jack Schafer on the BSC Wiki and I noticed that Grace wasn't listed as one of his children, but I didn't want to add her because I'm not sure of her exact name and most of my books are at my boyfriend's place so I can't check.

I didn't know Dawn had a half sister! She's too late in the series to be in the CG; I just looked there.
Maybe that's why Dawn was so distant (not in the good way) and even nastier to MA in the FF series (at least the couple I read). She had a real sister and didn't need her step- one anymore. [Not that I think that about stepsiblings, it just seems like something snotty that would cross Dawn's mind. Man, I don't know why I liked her so much when I was a kid. She really bothers me now that I'm older.]

When she and Sunny came to visit after the fire, when they'd just finished turning the barn into a house. .Welcome Home, MA, I think it is?

Why wouldn't it be Olsen-Schafer?

^don't know.. thinking of the people i know hyphenated names, i think the dad's name is usually first. but also, schafer-olson flows better than olson-schafer.

Is the dad's name usually first? I honestly don't know. I would have thought that the dad's name is last, because usually the paternal name gets passed down. But then I guess if they shortened it they could cut the second half off. Schafer-Olson does sound better.

^In the CD series. Carol is pregnant in Dawn's first diary, and then gives birth in Dawn, diary two. I really like reading about Gracie. I agree that Schafer-Olson does sound better, and I like that she has both of her parents' names.

Why and how is Dawn nasty to Mary Anne in the FF series?

After Sunny's mom dies and the barn is turned into a house, Dawn and Sunny come to Stoneybrook (and Jeff, but you hardly see him) for a visit. Sunny is understandably in a really bad place, and Dawn also understandably goes out of her way to accommodate her. But it's also to the exclusion of Mary Anne at the beginning (who, by the way, *also* just went through a hard time what with her house burning down and all). They giggle and whisper and generally make Mary Anne feel like sh*t for being soooo small town Connecticut. She then basically forces Mary Anne to go along with all of Sunny's crazy schemes, making her feel guilty about not wanting to follow every single one of Sunny's insane whims. (I mean, if Dawn wants to support her friend that way, great, but MA hardly knows Sunny. She should definitely try to be nice and be supportive, but come on.) This includes sneaking off to New York City for the day without telling anyone. In the end she comes around, and MA and Sunny have a Moment. I know Dawn was just trying to be there for her friend and was probably dealing with Mrs. Wilson's death herself, but she came off as a huge b*tch.
I think this one was ebooked, if you want to find it.
