The post count doesn't bother me. It used to when I was on a different forum, but with proboards it has never bothered me.
I think there is a way to disable it though - my friend used to have a proboard forum (before it got taken over by a pair of members out to cause trouble and ruined) and she had the post count disabled for the random chat bit.
Well, that just means that posts made in that subforum won't count toward your overall post count. We have that for the Fun and Games section, I believe.

I like seeing our post counts. Not that mine have changed much recently. Although I actually have some extra spare time lately, I have been spending all of it knitting and reading about teaching knitting, because I'm teaching my first beginner knitting class soon. I've never been paid to teach anybody to knit before, and I want to be really well prepared. Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to knit and post at the same time!
