That would mean that Elizabeth's birth name was Elizabeth Taylor. Think Nannie was a fan?
Berk sounds like Bert, and now I'm picturing someone with an Ernie voice going "Hi Berk!"

There should also be separate words for male cousins and female cousins. German has the distinction. That gender division would make it even more cumbersome in English. I think just cousins is fine just like so-and-so's children is good. Perhaps nephieces for nieces and nephews collectively...?

These were Kristy's cousins, who were part of the big group in "Kristy's Big Day", and they were also the ones who's house burned down, or some other disaster. They had to stay with Karen's big house family in a LS book, and clinged to her all the time, because they felt sorry for her. I remember Karen "escaping" to hide at Hannie's. What LS book was that? I liked those kids, but the girls seemed kind of annoying. I liked the idea of Karen having relatives who "take over", as she put it, and thought it was funny that Karen thought someone was annoying, instead of vice versa. I can relate to that. It was just Ashley and Grace who were clingy. It wasn't even that, but they kept trying to do everything FOR Karen. Ashley even offered to finish her homework for her. Karen's like "I have to be nice to them because they lost their house", and Grace and Ashley were just "We have to be nice to her because her parents are divorced". It was supposed to be parallel because Karen was doing everything for Addie, which she didn't like, and Ashley and Grace were doing that to Karen, not listening to her "I can do this myself". The two boys didn't really feature in that book. For me, it was hard to disconnect it from "Kristy's Big Day" so I kept having to remind myself that Ashley wasn't wearing a cast any longer. Other than that, I would have liked to hear more from Kristy's cousins - the Millers and the Meiners, not just this set (I think these are the Meiners - or am I wrong?).

Oh I had no idea they showed up in another book! Kristy writes a Christmas card to them in the Secret Santa book but I didn't know they show up in a Little Sister book!
