I really loved this book as a kid and recently reread it. Andrew getting back at him with the snake bit was awesome!
One thing that bugged me was in KIMCS class books was that bobby had a dog, then didn't have one in this book.

The big house family blaming Karen for the prank calls from Bobby was ridiculous. Charlie was guilt tripping her because he missed a call. It wasn't her fault

I loved how sassy Karen was to Bobby, and the highlight was when she reprimanded Amanda for being mean to Melody. Also was kind of disappointed that she didn't get to fight Bobby..I wonder how Mrs. Gianelli knew they were gonna do it, anyway.

^ she could probably tell. A bunch of kids they don’t know coming over to stand in their yard seems a little suspicious, at least to me. Do you think they would have actually done it though? Bobby seemed pretty confident that he would be able to fight her. Karen might have been able to throw a punch but Watson and Lisa raised Karen better then that.

This book was a big lesson about moving and how lucky Karen was to be able to go back to her old house even though she lived in a new one. I haven’t moved much in my lifetime, but I can empathize with Amanda and the house changes. It can almost feel like an insult to see changes to the place that you left even though you have most likely made changes to the place that you moved into. I just read the book where Nancy’s brother was born. She was still trying to pick names in this one. She liked “Patience Jane,” which Karen said was not a name. It’s not horrible in the grand scheme of current baby naming? And, Karen once wanted to change her name to Gazelle. Bobby’s Martian radio waves in Karen’s glasses story was pretty funny. I don’t think that most kids would fall for that. However, the bee story could give Andrew a lifelong phobia! Killer bees, which you could not tell from regular bees, would make you drop dead if they stung you. I liked how Kristy pretended to be Elizabeth on the phone to get Bobby to stop calling. I think that one of the actual adults would have done it if it was really that bothersome. Meaning that Charlie and Sam were being dramatic teenage boys. Ok, Charlie couldn’t talk to his girlfriend. He’s got hormones to care for. Sam was pissy because he couldn’t call a department store. I rarely see people hang socks or underwear unless they are Amish. It was super convenient for two families in the same neighborhood to just let it all hang out. Lastly, Ricky was spineless. I would give that spider ring back.
