I think there might be wooded areas but I think there are also more houses. I remember later in the BSC series, Kristy mentions something about the houses on the street behind her -- doesn't Bart live around there?
zoar, Claudia would definitely have loved that moment. That would have made for a really cute sitter subplot. Also, it could be used as a good explanation as to how Claud gets a lot of her candy.

^That would have been such a cute scene Virgo, especially if the Jamie thing had been in the same "year," Claud could have remembered that. I just read Karen's Baby-sitter and it says Bart lives in between the Big and Little Houses. I have always wondered about Watson's yard, too. Keep in mind I have only ever lived in one house and just for 3 years. Until the BSC, I had never heard of backyards not being fenced in, especially those where dogs lived. In this case, both dogs and Watson someone very very wealthy lives. I would love if there was no need for the fence, it just seems odd that if that was the case we were never told that. (sort of a plug for Stoneybrook). Based on KGI and MA's adventures with BooBoo, I thought there was no fence between the Brewers yard and Mrs. Porters. Also Mrs. Porter just shows right up at the wedding, unless she walked through the house or un-locked the back gate or something? I think this is just another BSC mystery of sorts.

There was a quick mention about a big house garden in Karen's Little Witch before they got into talking about Mrs. Porter's herb garden.

Re-reading this book again.
The expert are saying that the pumpkin is a fruit, instead of vegetable. Cause they're a seeds inside the pumpkin. In Karen's Pumpkin Patch book, they called it a vegetable garden. I still say it's a vegetable. Do you agreed or disagreed with the experts, saying it's a fruit, not a vegetable.
Yes, Karen. The pumpkin is going to respond to you, when your calling King Kong, where he's at. (Rolls eyes)

I wished they'd found the pumpkin smasher, and I wondered if it was maybe the same hooligan kids who'd stolen the Christmas lightbulbs in Karen's Mystery.

I reread this book. For Halloween. Emily, look so cute in a teddy bear outfit.

I would like to know how large the yard was that Watson had an enormous pumpkin patch that was just a fraction of his garden, and Karen didn’t even notice it. We just had Homecoming a few weeks ago. That is our equivalent of Mischief Night. It was funny to read about Karen and David Michael saving the tp. If they only knew the future! I liked that Charlie helped Karen build a fence and was then all insulted that she didn’t like it. It was creepy that people went into their backyard and poked around long enough to grab Kong who was covered up inside a fenced in area. (A Ring camera could find the culprit. ) However, Hannie said that someone opened the screen door to her house and grabbed her pumpkin off of her front porch. That’s some legit breaking and entering. Hannie randomly named her pumpkin Martha. The scarecrow’s name was Irv. In Karen’s Ghost David Michael was going to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle before the Wizard of Oz costumes. He actually was one in this one! (Donatello, I think, based on the picture. His costume was bad! It looked like a jumpsuit with knee pads and a pizza patch on the chest. There was no visible shell at all.) Emily was a teddy bear with a big belly button, Andrew was a monster, Hannie was a jack-o-lantern, and Nancy was a dragon. Yes, Karen was a witch. Karen tends to look cute on the British covers, whereas the BSC look like trolls.

Is that supposed to be Karen on the cover? That looks like an adult!

I would assume that is Karen. She definitely looks like she's in her late teens, early 20's. You could probably even argue that she looks older than early 20's.

Well, kids mature quicker in Europe...? I like how she’s bundled up in Christmas gear when it was warm enough for her to attempt sleeping outside.
