It's a nice fall book for sure and I liked reading about Watson's gardening, but my favourite fall ones are Karen's Surprise and Karen's Little Witch

I'm re-read this book again, soon. Since it's fall.

And all because she wanted Kong to grow a fraction of an inch - or whatever - overnight

This always cracks me up. "Sam, I cannot do this. I cannot sell my pumpkins to complete strangers."
Re-read this again. I thought, they found out who was pumpkin smasher. I guess, we'll never know.

^ I always *assumed* it was kids in the neighbourhood although I always thought it was interesting how (people) broke into the wealthy Big House neigbhourhood. Wouldn't they have security? Or at least hear the pumpkins being smashed? I heard the bear breaking into my garbage the other night! With all the people in living in the Biig House, you'd *think* they'd hear something!

Virgo, that's what I was thinking. Someone had heard a noise. LOL, oh that Sam is so sneaky.

I'm still surprised that someone (some people) broke into the Big House backyard and ruined the pumpkins. I feel it's different if they were accessible from the street. It makes it way more creepy. The sitters always say Stoneybrook is such a small, safe town where nothing happens but it's UNTRUE! It's filled with so much crime that there's an entire mystery series devoted to it

I feel like Karen left Kong on the porch, but then I remembered she wanted him to keep growing overnight that's why she didn't bring him in.

My favorite part of this book was when Andrew came up with the idea that he and his friends could trick or treat twice on Halloween. (Once in each of their "house" neighborhoods). Too bad Claudia wasn't there, she'd have loved that plan. I still love when Jamie Newton wanted to dress up as a trick or treat bag so people could just feed him candy directly, so cute. I also liked reading about the big house family spending time together (in the garden, though I admit I never knew Watson raised vegetables. I thought he was just into flowers)? I have noticed a lot of the LS books have more family only scenes than the BSC books too, which is nice because I always wished we had gotten to read more about the sitters (and charges) with their family, on regular days.

Virgo, that is odd that people were running around their back yard. Do we know what was behind their house? Another house, woods, etc? (Didn't Karen see a reindeer out there once, lol?) I don't think rich people are randomly known for their pumpkin patches, so it must have been neighbor kids who knew they were back there.
