I don't remember David Michael actually going to Karen's school. He may have visited it during Karen's Big Fight, but I don't believe they ever got to the enrollment stage.

I don't know where I heard that he transferred, but I could have sworn he did and was upset cause he felt left out that Karen had friends. I never actually read a book about this, I just heard it through some site but can't recall much else, sorry.

From Scholastic's Website: "Karen's rivalry with her stepbrother David Michael goes from bad to worse when he switches schools and winds up in her class, but the Thanksgiving season helps Karen put aside her anger and help her stepbrother adjust." I'm waiting to hear back from someone on Paperbackswap about ordering this book. If I get it I'll let all of you know what I thought. From the thread we already have on here it sure sounds like Karen was nasty to DM. :/ babysittersclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=karen&action=display&thread=597

I reread last night and on page 13 Karen tells us she met the Millers a couple of times. Once at Elizabeth and Watson's wedding and on another occasion. Did we ever read about that (second time)? Even though I had just read #6, for some reason I thought Grace was 3 instead of 6. (In #6 she was 5). P 49 in this book Ashley is 10 and Grace is 6. It looks like they both did age from the pre wedding play group. It did sound as though the cousins were being overbearing and I admit Karen's escape to Hannie's house was very funny, not all that nice but funny to read. I was glad at the end when the three girls made amends and its too bad they never (to our knowledge) kept in touch. One of my favorite things about this book was that Charlie picks up Karen and Hannie from school one afternoon! What a surprise that was to read. It's on page 74. I loved how the KIMCC got together to invite Ms. Colman's fiancé to class. Henry Simmons looks quite handsome on page 95. He also looks younger and taller than I remember from other illustrations of him. Loved how he answered the kids' questions and made sure they knew Ms. Colman would still be their teacher--good guy. The Addie parts, didn't do too much for me this time around. I did love what a big sticker fan she is and like that the writers kept that trait about her in later books.

Yeah, Henry was a good/cute guy. Ms. Colman picked a winner!
I also like Addie's sticker love. You would always know what to get her on holidays.
One thing I always liked about this book was the illustrations. The one of Karen and Pamela, the one of Grace and Ashley (I used to think their outfits were cool), and the one of Karen stomping off to sleep alone, holding her quilt.

I don't remember any of the illustrations and I'm not sure if I still have the book anymore or not though I remember the day I bought it.
Pamela seemed to really like stickers too, she had puppy ones for Karen when she became Pizza Queen, she really wasn't that bad, just silly sometimes. And she gave her party guests a page of fuzzy stickers as well in the goody bags. I was also into collecting stickers, but I see Karen was into collecting shells more. After Pen Pals, I started buying lots of cute erasers when traveling and in town, and lots of shells, still have the shells put away, maybe I'll create something with them.

I think a lot of little girls go through a phase of collecting stickers. And most kids like to get stickers, especially to note particularly good school work. (I even give my children stickers on their work and we home school!)

I still love stickers I use them to decorate cards with, share at church and with kids programs, and just spread extra cheer (I hope). The only LS sticker thing I never quite understood was why Addie was okay with always decorating her wheelchair tray with them. Super cute and clever idea, I just mean come the end of whatever season, she was always peeling them off. That would not be fun. I just now thought how that reminded me of when Gabbie decorates her bedroom door with stickers...Little Miss Stoneybrook? Addie needed a way of laminating stickers and then making a placemat of sorts on her tray or using the removable wall decorations we have today. I do love that she was always having fun with stickers.

I found an old book from childhood that had some puffy Little Mermaid stickers on the cover, Ariel and Eric holding hands I still have some Lisa Frank ones that I never used and saved because they were sooo cool. Yeah, loved stickers and still do!

Zoar, we've enjoyed all the stickers you've sent us. The small owl stickers are currently the "good work" stickers.

Yes zoar, the stickers I've received from you do bring me cheer!
I'm getting back into ATCs (artist trading cards - you trade drawings the size of a trading card), and when I've mailed my cards to people online, I like to include stickers as a bonus (plus I decorate the envelopes with stickers).

I'm happy you both enjoyed the stickers. That's cool, Celaeno, could also be a mini post-card.

The girls and I have enjoyed the stickers you've sent my way, too, zoar.
This book is all right. Addie was never one of my favorites. I did notice that when she joined the class she said she used to go to Stoneybrook Elementary and had a best friend there named Barbara. I wonder if either of them were in David Michael's class.

Probably not, because Addie would have said so about DM.
