Yeah, cute kid. I liked her style on some of the covers and sometimes wore similar clothes and glasses.

^ ITA, Virgo. It seemed like maybe a better idea would be to do it weekly so more kids could participate or even by local elementary school. Maybe each school could do some type of fund-raiser and the pizza king-dom would be a reward and/or way to help them earn money. I was just so happy when Natalie finally had a moment of glory and won the next month. It was also interesting to read about the KIMCC having class in locations outside of their classrooms. I only remember once or twice getting to have class outdoors in college never before that. This book also reminded me of Andrea Prezzioso's modelling career and how extensive that was for the brief (to our knowledge) time frame it took place in. The subplot of Hootie gone missing was odd. I have never had guinea pig. My only experience with such creatures was baby-sitting for friend's daughter one afternoon who had two guinea pigs I believe. Could a guinea pig really hide out for as long as Hootie did? Maybe I am just remembering Tigger being stashed away in Kerry Bruno's closet--that I will never believe, that Tigger stayed there for so long unkown to the Brunos. The class pizza party at the end was a very nice thing for Pizza express to have done. It definitely made me want pizza, too.

What about having a pizza king and queen at the same time each month if not every 2-3 months? I like your idea of some kind of fundraising. I know Karen collected money at Bellairs for the poor, but the idea of providing pizza lunches to select schools for free in Stoneybrook and area would have been nice too though missing school would have had an impact as it was already impacting her weekends.

Karen won $1000 for winning. So, every month this restaurant gave away $1000 plus paid to make new commercials, billboards, and print ads. I'm surprised that they could afford the free pizza party. They did recycle the crown from person to person, lol.
I'm wondering how nobody had ever heard of the contest before when Karen was actually taking over for someone else. (Rodney, the King. Rodney King?) It sounded like the whole town showed up for Karen and Natalie's wins. How did they miss previous hoopla?
Karen’s duties included collecting money for homeless people (she didn’t know what they were) and going to a random kid’s birthday party at the pizza place. Two books later she gave away all of her money to needy New Yorkers, so I guess this was a positive learning experience for her.
One little thing that dated this. They had a pop machine in the cafeteria. The last time that I was in a school they had milk vending machines. No more good stuff.
Thank God Hootie didn't die in the house or Karen never would have lived it down.
Natalie looked so cute and happy wearing her crown and little cardigan in the final illustration.
