I agree with the majority. As a divorced kid living half and Half with each parent I would even say two weeks is too long now and I am thirteen. I think a week at each parent's house is good.

I agree with what everyone posted. I think that a month is too long for Karen and Andrew and that two weeks is better.

I was surprised at the month-to-month agreement that was made. Initially, I thought that Watson was only going to get an extra weekend or two.

What I always admired about Maureen and Ed is that upfront they told Stacey it was up to her how she got to divide her time between them. Obviously she'd live primarily with one and then visit the other, I meant in general. Later on, possibly after Stacey's Emergency, Stacey reminds her parents that "her time is HER time. And that she isn't something for them to fight over."
I was a "divorced kid." Though my situation was nothing like anyone's in the either the BSC girls or too many kids in real life. (I would hope anyway :/ ) My point is, I wish I had had more of a voice as a kid regarding my weekends and summers, etc.
I agree with whoever said it would have been great to read about Andrew and Karen calling and/or seeing their other family when they were living with the other parent. ITA that a whole month without seeing their mom or dad was way too long, particularly because I always got the impression that they really did not see or talk much to them in between. Sad.

Yeah, I agree with the month being pretty long. A very big change all at once, too.

^Especially because they both were so very young! Andrew was only 4. It seemed anyway he was closer to Lisa than Watson, though I have not read more than a dozen LS books so could be wrong.

^ I think you're right. I think it mentions him being nervous a lot at the Big House because there was so much going on.

^And possibly upset (though it never said this) because like David Michael, he was virtually ignored in favor of Karen or Emily.

For some reason, I thought that Karen and Andrew spending one month at the Little House and one month at the Big House was a way for the writers to (a) further stamp Karen and Andrew into the BSC family; seeing as they are at the Big House more means more interaction with Kristy, the other BSC members, and the Thomas family. (b) Easier for writing and planning. One book at the Big House, the next at the Little House.

^ Yes Exactly! That is probobly why I don't like the Thomas-Brewers Much in the LS Books, They don't seem to have enough time for all of their kids. That is why i never Understood why they adopted Emily if they didn't even have enough time for the other kids. I feel that a lot the time, couples just want to have children together. I can see this also happening with divorced couples who may have kids with OTHER people -- but not each other -- and want that "connecting bond".

^I liked how Sharon and Richard were like "Uh, no. That's not happening." when Mary Anne and Dawn wanted them to have a kid.

I really want to know who Kristy's new friend Tess was. I thought it could have been Tess Swinheart from Stacey's Secret Friend, but that book was written AFTER this one.

Maybe Kristy and Tess from Stacey's Secret Friend became friends after all but it was never mentioned in the regular series. I doubt it but you never know...

Maybe Kristy and Tess from Stacey's Secret Friend became friends after all but it was never mentioned in the regular series. I doubt it but you never know... It couldn't have been her because Tess didn't even live in Stoneybrook when this book was published. She was a non-existent character.
