This is the point where I start to think they are stretching for plots, lol. I didn't think Karen would be the clown type.

I can see Karen as a clown, but it would be a horror story.

Lmao. I can definitely see a horror story with Karen as a clown.

I thought it was a bit annoying how Karen kept changing her mind on what to do for the circus show. You'd think the leaders would get annoyed with her and insist that she pick one thing. Then, at the end, she even gets to be a ring-master-ess!
Since Nannie was born at the end of July, that would probably make her a Leo. Interesting that she doesn't like the attention because -- according to theory -- Leos would!

Is this the book that caused Karen being a total brat at Camp BSC?

I liked reading about all the different things that Karen and her friends learned to do in the circus but it was a little eye-rolling when Jillian told Karen that she's (Karen) good at everything. As for the subplot, I was a little surprised to read that Nannie didn't like being in the spotlight. I always thought that at the very least, she didn't mind it.

I can see that about Nannie. She never made a big deal about or asked for thanks for keeping the Big House running. (Except for that infamous spaghetti dinner.) She just did her thing in the background.

I was a little surprised by Nannie's extreme reaction (turning pale) to the idea of a surprise party. I probably would not care for such a big surprise, either. I love how Karen helped save the day though. I would have liked reading about at least one of Nannie's bowling friends. All we ever hear is that Nannie= a champion bowler or is going to dinner with some friends from her league. I don't recall ever reading about Nannie actually bowling or doing something ( that reads live) with one of her friends from the team. Sort of O/T Doesn't Nannie look much older on page 72 than she does on page 81?

Well make-up can make a person appear younger. I suppose on page 72 Nannie was about to go to bed. On page 81 Nannie was forewarned of her “surprise” party so she had a chance to get made up. Also regarding the pictures, who is the guy in the baseball cap on page 59? Is it Jimmy or B.F. Willie? This person looks older too and I can’t even decide if it is the same person on page 23. I really enjoyed reading about the 4th of July barbeque and the hotdog contest along with the outdoor concert and fireworks. I know it’s a bit early but are there any other 4th of July themed books? I know there is a chapter in the BSC’s Haunted Mansion but that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

^ I remember Karen's swim meet (can't remember the actual title) had a 4th subplot.

Thanks, haha 4th subplot.
Also I wanted to add I enjoyed reading about the circus. The acts Karen learned sound like a lot of fun—like the trapeze flying, walking on the high wire, riding in clown cars and spinning plates.
