Is this the book where Karen and her class go on that game show School Stars? I think it is but I'm not so sure.

Karen looks like she has Down Syndrome on page 35.
In Chapter 14, Maria and Bill Korman are introduced when it should be MELODY and Bill. Maria is Maria Kilbourne. But it is not just one error, they call her Maria for the entire chapter.

I was surprised that Karen knew where the space lauching center in Florida is. I didn't know where it was when I was her age and I didn't know now. I was a little surprised that Karen knew how the words she circled were spelled correctly, mostly because for some reason, I don't think kids that age would know how to spell them. I did learn a few things such as what a skein is.

I enjoy this book. Be so cool swim in jell-o I didn't like David Michael in this book. Being all bratty. The way, he said, his classmates got computer & Karen's class didn't. It's like nanana, I got computer, you don't. Why didn't Karen's dad, teach her on use computer? You think, he will say, Karen, do you want learn how to use the computer? Even if her class didn't have no computer or not. I love the girls imagine their out in space.

I think David Michael only bragged about the computer because he was jealous of Karen's class and how they got to go on the game show. I felt bad for him, this book came in the middle of a bunch of books where he was doing poorly in school and Karen was getting the same good grades she always got.

Does Watson even have a computer/desktop with all those microsoft programs? He should have kept educational CD rom's for the little kids like Emily Michelle and Andrew to play computer games with. I couldn't believe at the time they didn't even have Nintendo, I didn't know anyone who didn't at the time.

^We didn't get Nintendo 64. Until my older sister got married to her husband. The Super Nintendo, my cousins have. Anytime, we go to my Aunt, Uncle & cousins house, we played Nintendo 64.
You think, Waston, get kids games for Andrew and Emily Michelle. Them learning their preschool stuff.

I had the original Nintendo console and Super Nintendo, by the time Nintendo 64 came out, I lost interest and stuck with the old ones. I do like the colour gameboy and some PS3 though occasionally nowadays. Sega Genesis was pretty cool too, would play Sonic at my friend's place all the time.

They did have some sort of game console at the big house. Karen was saving up to buy a game in one of the books. They did get a computer that David Michael played on too. He was having trouble in school, and I think Watson used it to help him out.

^I agree Scrounge. I also much preferred the David Michael subplot to the Karen main story. It was funny reading about antiquated days of going on-line though I do remember just starting to use a computer around that same time. I don't think I had my first email address until 1995 or 1996. I did through college just lol didn't think much of it. I also enjoyed David Michael and Watson bonding though wish at least some had been told live. I know I say this all the time but I really would have loved if each charge and sitter sibling had had their own book. This could have been a great one to be told through DM's perspective.
