This book must not be very popular since no one posted.
I liked reading about them going to the woods. I felt bad for Nancy when she ended up falling into the stream. I did like that she didn't quit Pony Camp, despite being unhappy.

This book is terrible. It is probably the worst Little Sister book, even worse than the stupid one where Karen meets the President of the United States. Karen's so excited and bragging about her pony coming to pony camp, forgetting that her pony is old and can't really be ridden anymore, so it's not all that exciting after all. And I'm just sitting there wondering why Daddy decided that the best option for the pony was to pay to board him at a pony camp when he can't even be ridden and Karen won't even be able to go visit him anymore after the month she spends at Camp Boring.
Why did the camp counselor let Karen talk her into riding Diablo? You'd think being a pony camp, they would have a little more experience with situations where a kid wanted to ride a pony that was too much for them to handle and they'd be able to get the kid onto a more suitable pony.
Nancy is such a whiny baby every time they go away from their families. I think she'd be a ton happier just staying home, even though she'd probably whine about that, too.

Is this a hard one to find for anyone else? I collected LS and BSC when I was 8 through 12 and could never find this one. I am collecting the books again after my mom went and donated my collection, and I am still having an incredibly hard time finding it. I would buy it off Amazon but I think the hunt is fun. I thought I had found it the other day but it was Karens Pony I found. That was okay too because I didn't have that one either ;D

It is hard to find. And my copy of it got water damage and had to be thrown away, and I don't really want to hunt for it, because I don't like it, but I just know I'm missing one LS book and it bothers me.

I thought Blueberry couldn't be ridden because he was too old?
I took horse riding lessons and hated it. When I was a kid I read Me And Katie The Pest and convinced my parents to let me take riding lessons. The school was about a half hour drive from the city. We didn't put on a show but after the three week lessons we go on a hike through the woods like Karen did. My horse fell in a rabbit hole (his hoof did) but he was fine. I wasn't the greatest rider so they put me on a horse that was much like Mellow. Slow.
Even as an adult I'm scared to death of horses lol.

She's only 7.

Karen was always such a horrible packer. I don’t know why her mother even let her try. I liked how she said she packed all of her 7 CDs. That was a solid amount of CDs for a little girl to have. (Then you knew those CDs by heart. I still have my first albums burned into my soul.) She still had Easter candy in July, which I did not believe.
Watson shouldn’t own a horse if he couldn’t figure out how to rent a spot at a stable. I’m surprised that the camp took Blueberry’s old raggedy body, but I guess he could be used for teaching purposes. (Why was he so rough looking when he got there? He sounded like he had been neglected.)
Karen wanted Diablo purely because she thought that his coloring looked good with her blond hair. The camp staff wasn’t very responsible to allow her to stick with a horse that she wasn’t experienced enough to deal with. I would have been hanging out with Nancy and Mellow Yellow the statue pony. She got thrown off into a stream! I don’t care how low to the ground he was, that is still traumatic when you’re already uncomfortable.
I read the one where the 3 Musketeers went back to Camp Mohawk recently. It was pretty much the same story. Hannie made new friends and thrived at camp. Nancy didn’t like it and wanted to go home. Karen didn’t have much fun either and was kind of going through the motions. I feel like Hannie was going to outgrow her friends as she got older.
I was a bit confused by Ruby’s unplanned pregnancy. I don’t think that horses are running around banging freely like cats and dogs. TIL that horses are pregnant for about 11 months, ugh.
