I don't really remember this book well. I only remember the picture.

I don't remember this book that well, but I think this is the one where Karen takes a potter class and ends up taking a classmate's work.

I just read this book for the first time today, and Karen was such a pain in the beginning of it! Promising Hannie and Nancy that she'd get them into the pottery class even though she didn't really think she could, believing that Merry would like her better if she copied Isabel but still getting mad at Andrew for copying her... So I was surprised that she turned out to be such a sympathetic character when the main plot stuff started happening. I felt bad for her. She even tried to tell Merry that it wasn't her vase, it was Isobel's, but Merry kept saying how great it was, and Karen felt so guilty the whole time. I thought Merry handled everything really well at the end.

I think it was really silly of Karen to make the promise to her friends, considering that she was lucky to even be in the course in the first place because of a special circumstance (needing a baby sitter). Though it was for fun for her, it was also to make things easier for Merry. I felt bad though when she was trying to tell Merry it wasn't her vase and bad for her when Isobel was calling her out for it in front of everyone when she's just a little kid

I liked reading about the pottery classes and the various things they had to create. Also, I wasn't surprised that Isabel called Karen out in front of the class... Isabel isn't that much older than Karen so it's not surprising that she would act the way she did.

I wanted to try pottery for years so I was excited to read this, but after reading about how hard she made it sound, I didn't think it was such a good idea after all

I just read this book and was disappointed. This book and "Karen's Haunted House (HH)" were the two brand new to me of the 8 remaining LS I need to get to have them all. Since HH as I shared seems to be eluding me, it would have been nice had this story been a little better. I wish Claudia had been in the class! I remember Claud telling Stacey in "Boy Crazy Stacey," (when the two of them had returned to Stoneybrook) that in New Hampshire she had learned to "throw a pot" and that she wanted to take lessons at home. The beginning read a little confusing to me because even though Karen tells us up front it is a school day, it doesn't seem or feel like it is at all until Merry arrives reminds Andrew and Karen to get dressed. I actually thought it was horrible how Merry kept pressing upon Karen and Andrew how they must behave in her class. Maybe it rang a bit too close to memories for me of family members basically saying "I love you if..." I think that was how Karen felt, too. I know in Merry's case it would be "I will only continue to like you if.." I know she is their nanny and not parent. I still also don't understand why (to our knowledge) no one had the idea that Andrew and Karen could stay at the Big House on days Merry was occupied. I wonder also if Lisa had attempted to call the BSC? Lol, we know how by this point in the series there are more one family jobs, I don't think other than MA way back in KGI and Bart for the couple weeks ever sit for Karen and Andrew at Lisa's, do they? Anyway not one of my favorites but I did think Hannie was very funny and a good friend when she helped lighten things up between her, Nancy, and Karen by saying she was glad she wasn't in Merry's class because their was too much excitement. The 3 M's imaginary games sounded cute, too.

If the class is after school, why can't the bsc help out. Or why can't K & A go to the big house after school for a few hours. The mom wouldn't be seeing them anyway. What's the difference?

This was the last little sister book I needed for the entire series. It was okay from what I remember, didn't Karen want to be in a more advanced class then beginners?
