I haven't read this one yet. I seen Holidays everyday. Like National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day or Peanutbutter Day or It's Dog Day. Just some silly Holiday that someone made up. Even do it on real Holiday like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, & etc...

^It was Pirate Day or Talk like a Pirate Day or something like that recently. I could definitely celebrate Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.

It's Augustania month. Let's party.
Karen's whole idea came from seeing a Back to School store window display in August. She had a fit because she didn't go back to school until September. I guess she's never seen Christmas displays out before Halloween.
This book had too much information in it. I wanted to fact check everything. It is in fact National Friendship Day on the first Sunday of August. Susan B. Anthony Day is actually on February 15th. National Aviation Day is August 19th. National Mustard Day is August 6th. International Clown Week is August 1st-7th (a whole week...). I couldn't find Hair-itage Month, but I laughed at David Michael's suggestion that they all wear wigs.
Augustania was kind of a hodgepodge mess in the end. They got summer-y presents, went trick-or-treating, a pie eating contest, a pool party luau, a dog parade, and a make-your-own sundae bar. I guess yellow was their official color, and sunflowers were kind of a symbol. Other than that there was not a lot of tradition to carry over from year to year.
It was nice of Elizabeth to call her news reporter friend. She never did that for BSC events. Just saying...
I like the cover with Karen in the field of sunflowers. EXCEPT, that is supposed to be the big house back yard. That's quite extravagant, Watson. My neighbor currently has one sunflower growing by the front door. It's cute. It's not going to consume the house.
There's one funny picture that I wish I could post. On page 41, Sam and Charlie are sitting at the kitchen table eating their Saturday smorgasbord subs while they listen to Karen. They are both holding the sandwiches the long way like they're eating corn on the cob, and their eyebrows are raised in unison over Karen's had gestures.
