I agree with, to an extent. I can understand Claudia not putting in any EXTRA effort, but she doesn't put in ANY effort. It DOESN'T take a lot to know the difference between "who" and "how" and how to spell Mary Anne, Jessi, etc. Even if she feels school is pointless, with the number of times she's gotten into trouble and the amount of time she spends getting tutored, hanging out in the resource room, etc.. if she was truly capable of doing the work, I think she'd do it, just to get everyone off her case. She always complains about how her family has to check her hw, but STILL won't just do it correctly herself?! These are examples that, in my mind, prove she ISN'T just lazy.

I agree about Claudia not being just lazy but what I am talking about is having the attitude that I sometimes find myself having if I think I can't do something perfectly or as good as someone else - I don't try at all and may adamently refuse to even participate in the activity (but am trying to recognize when I do this and working on not doing it . Claud's behavior would totally fit this. That is IF you accept that she absolutely does not have a learning disability.
