^ TOT = Teachers of Tomorrow. It was the program (or class I guess) where kids got to sign up to teach differnt classes in Kristy in Charge. I felt for Mal in that one. Actually, in all of them. I was bullied and teased and it's not fun. It really does damage to your self esteem after a while and makes you just want to get away.

^We never had anything like that in my school. This book makes me sort of glad that we didn't.

I've never read this book before, but that was pretty stupid of the teachers at SMS... I mean a sixth grader teaching eighth graders... complete madness, poor Mal

^ Agree about letting a 6th grader teach 8th. Doing that was just setting kids up to fail, I thought. Actually, I think a lot of the features of the program set kids up to fail. Maybe that was the point - to "prove" how hard it is to be a teacher...... ;D

That makes absolutely no sense to me at all because that is just asking for trouble. Poor Mal indeed .

^ Agreed. Where was Ben during the whole Spaz Girl ordeal? You would think he would like, stick up for his girl.

I thought I remembered Ben being there and being supportive but I haven't read these for a while. I'll have to check the next time I reread. Of course, in later books, Ben is almost made out to be a charge so maybe that was the problem.

ben was around but mallory for some reason didn't really want to see him.
i really liked this subplot because sadly my middle school years pretty much resembled mal's spaz girl experience.

^ Sorry to hear that Greer! I think Mallory felt humiliated and that's why she didn't want to see Ben.

^honestly to me it seemed like mal didn't really want their help. i think they did try to help her out as much as they could, but it wasn't just the bsc versus cokie mason or clarence king. it was all of sms basically.
