Does anyone know why she didn't get the go-ahead for more books?

If it makes you feel better, I'm also doing a little BSC project. I've been doing it for years but haven't got enough inspiration to finish it. I actually started doing it a while before Raina started hers. However, our styles are extremely different. I do mine in manga style and she does hers in cartoon style. However, I've been drawing random scenes from random books and some of Claudia's outfits. And this board has helped me somewhat. I haven't gotten one book done yet but I have loads of different chapters ripped from the books. It's a shame that she wont be making any more graphic novels though, I like comparing her work with my work.

mckay, they didn't sell enough to justify the expense of extending her contract and printing more books

^ That really sucks. I have all of the graphic novels so far and would really like to see more. I'm also sad that Phantom Phone Calls isn't getting published a a graphic novel, as it's one of my favourite books in the series - and I can't stand Claudia in "Mean Janine." It would've been great to see Jessi in the series, but that's clearly not going to happen.

I would have loved to see Dawn and the Impossible Three as a graphic novel, or Kristy's Big Day...

I would have love to see Dawn And The Impossible Three and Jessi's Secret Language as Graphic Novels. I have all 3 Graphic Novels, and love how she drew Mary Anne and Dawn. They are both beautiful. And would also love to see how Shannon and Abby would look like too.

I wanted to see Morbidda Destiny, too! And Marnie Barrett's ham face. Maybe we can beg Raina to do some sketches for us

Kristy's Big Day would be awesome to see in graphic form. The hair-cutting scene, the group at the movies scene, the wedding!

I actually really liked the graphic novels even if stuff was "modernized" (only really the basic stuff like the clothes and some technology and stuff) and thought the drawings were really cute and well done. (I'm really thankful it wasn't done in manga style- that would have been hideous) It's a shame there won't be anymore other than the Claudia one but it's true they really didn't sell. (I was barely able to foist them on a few customers)
I'm a really big comic book geek and I even gained a lot of ragging on at my comic book store when I bought them (except for the one girl who works there we squeed over them and reminisced over BSC, lol- boys are smelly and don't get these things)
Sadly though, when people come into my store and ask for BSC I show them the graphic novels but they get disapointed- they only want the reg books. I'm really surprised they don't just do a small new printing on them- take it from me they'd sell and probably better than some other junk on the market. Besides, the freakin' Boxcar Children are still in print but not the BSC? That's so not right.

^ I am glad that at least the Boxcar Children are still in print. Besides the BSC, those are my favorites. ;D I can't get into the graphic novels as I have never liked comic books or even the illustrations in books - even as a kid. I think I'm pretty alone on this, though, as everyone else seems to like the graphic form of the BSC. ;D
