Can any of you guys help me with a question? My sister was wondering which book is the one where the Pikes start a lending library? She wants to read it, and I know I have it because I read it recently, but I can't remember which on it was!
Thanks!

That would be "Jessi's Baby-sitter"

Why do I remember the scene so clearly, where Buddy Barrett returns a book while the Pikes were eating dinner and Byron had to amend the sign with NOT OPEN DURING MEALS!

Oh I loved when the Pikes opened up their library! This was one of the few moments that I really enjoyed them. After reading that book, my sister and I made little "library cards" for our books and tried to loan them out to people. I don't think anybody was interested, though!

"Jessi's Babysitter" is the one this is in? I don't remember the lending library but it's been a while since I've read it. I'll have to reread - sounds really funny. Sometimes the Pikes can be a riot!

Thanks guys. Knew someone on here would know! I think this is the book that inspired me and my sister to start a library for our stuffed animals. (We had a school set up for them, with roll books and newsletters and everything.) And it's just occurred to me that this book is probably where we got the idea for a school library from. Some of our books (Including many BSC books) still have bits of paper in the back with "Toy School Library" written on them.

I love how the Pikes could mobilize their entire force to accomplish a certain activity, like the time their dad lost his job.

No, no, that's a good thing! We tend to go off-topic a lot around here.

take this one for example, it is now about going off topic back on topic though, the library was only mentioned in one book, right? It always sounded exciting to me, I wanted to do it too. But I only have one brother so not that many books. Sucks to be me!

I loved when the kids made their library! I think it would be fun to be friends with the Pike's - they always have some crazy activity going on, but when you get sick of participating you could just go home and not deal with a million kids
