I think that Dawn needed more to her character. There was always so much about the other characters, but not so much about her.
I like her, but I hate that she moved back to California. I was so sad when I read that... I'm actually glad she moved to California because then we got the California Diaries series. I've never read those before. What are they about? Are they good?

I've decided California Casual=clothes like you would see at PacSun in the mall; basically it's lazy shorthand so AMM/ghosties wouldn't have to come up with more outfits. Also, I really don't like the term "bicoastal". to me it sounds like a coy way for someone who's questioning their sexuality to describe themselves.

If you go by the cover art then California Casual = denim, denim, denim. Often layered. Dawn so wasn't "bicoastal" either. She lived in Connecticut for like 18 months out of her 13 years.

It would make more sense for Dawn to describe herself as "bicoastal" if they hadn't been frozen in time...Dawn moved to CT in 1988 and lived there until, oh, 1995. Sorry, sometimes the whole frozen-in-time thing bugs the crap out of me. I know a lot of people don't mind it, but it bugged me even when I was a kid.

I love Dawn! She's always been my favourite I was thinking with all the later remarks Dawn makes about dead animal carcasses, etc later on in the series (which really do annoy me, because she keeps eating chicken!)...but maybe this is how the ghostwriters think vegetarians think. I was vegetarian, now piscetarian, and i only ever say that stuff as jokes when people are teasing me about how good their meat tastes Silly Dawn, thats not how you convert people to the cause

Dawn was likeable at some points, but I lost a lot of respect for her when she was really rude to mary anne after her makeover....although that could have been for getting back at Mary Anne for being such a b*tch to her when Lewis was in town.

I was reading my textbook for the nutrition class I'm taking this quarter, and it said that honey isn't really any better for you than regular sugar. I had to laugh, because Dawn was ALWYS substituting honey and acting like she was being SO much healthier.

I always thought honey was healthier and not just because Dawn told me so. I don't like honey and don't use it, but it's nice to know I'm not really skipping a healthier alternative.

No, you're not missing out. It's all basically just sugar.

Wasn't there one book where Dawn was making lemonade with Jamie Newton and she thought to herself that normally she'd use brown sugar or even honey to sweeten it instead of white sugar? That sounds gross to me. Honey and lemonade? Yuck.

^Gross! I was always confused when Dawn mentioned honey as a healthy alternative.

^That is gross. I don't even like honey, so I've never tried it, but it doesn't seem that healthy to me. Maybe Dawn thought it was good because it was all natural.
