^I remember not realizing they had already decided on all the other aspects of the new sitter, so I sent in two Indian names because I wanted a sitter who was brown like me.

I liked Abby. For some reason I found her funny and different. I also agree that I like how she stood up to Kirsty.

I sent in two hispanic names because I was sure the new babysitter would be non-white. I like Abby though. Would have been better if she was Inez Santos though . hehehe

^^^ Aint hispanics white though? They can be... I guess I meant two stereotypical latinos. Tan skin with dark hair and eyes.

I remember reading somewhere that the working names of them (before the readers had voted) were Lucy and Ethel, from the I Love Lucy show. I think it was Ethel, anyway... whatever Lucy's best friend's name was. I remember that too, it was in the back of "Kristy and the dirty diapers" which is the book where Abby and Anna first appear.

Abby was good with the kids on the Krushers, but that's about it. I don't remember it ever mentioning that she had a babysitting history, so why was Anna and her offered the memberships so easily? And why weren't they grilled like Dawn was? The BSC was really busy and they didn't have enough sitters to keep up with all the work. Even before the girls moved into town the other sitters were begging Kristy to find a new member.

^ Yeah, so they didn't get Abby and Anna to draw a diagram of the "divestive" system...

Anyone else notice that Abby seems to do a lot of lying/hiding things in her books? She always seems to hide things from her mom and even the BSC. In Abby the Bad Sport, she lies about being benched and in Abby's Lucky 13 she lies about being suspended. I think she also lies about something with calling her Great Aunt in Abby in Wonderland. And she takes off to NY without telling anyone in Abby and the Mystery Baby. I guess, though, this can be expected after the example her mother sets with things like not telling the girls who the baby was in Mystery Baby.

I liked Abby... I dont know....it was strange with Dawn gone though. Abby was introduced around the same time that the movie came out, because I remember at the time I was getting the BSC fan letter, iwas in the fan club and all that, and i seem to remember the twins and the movie not being that far apart. I wanted one of the twins being named after me lmaooooo (my real name is Donica...rhymes with Monica)...and I had a friend named Deanna...so I was thinking ..Donica...Deanna...and then I found this really weird last name ...LaHoya or something like that...lolol

Abby was my favorite babysitter. Maybe because she was from Long Island. Or that she had really curly hair.
It could be both. lol.

I liked Abby too. Maybe it's because I didn't read any of her books til I was an adult, so I wasn't bitter about a new sitter coming or anything. She seems fun to be around and I love how strong of a personality she seems to have, it's also nice to see her more vulnerable side when it comes to her family. Now Anna... she just seemed like a big dork to me.

^ Once again, sotypical, we're complete opposites ;D I don't like Abby in most books- she seems loud, obnoxious and desparate for attention (I'm being a too harsh but am in that kind of mood right now. I really don't hate her.) I really like Anna, though, especially in the first book where they move to Stoneybrook.

I like Abby too. She just seem to butt-in too much during conversations. Her constants attempts at trying to be funny can kind of get annoying, but I do like her. She does seem to lie a bit in her books like what aln said. I remember one time (Unvalentine, I think) where she buys a "study" sheet for a test from a person and supposedly didn't know that that was an answer sheet. The funny thing about that book was that MA bought it too and supposedly thought that it was just a "study" sheet.

I like both of the Stevensons a lot - I sort of wish they'd written a book from Anna's perspective. I'd have liked to get into her head a bit.
