Hello,
This was a sort of distinct couple I never did figure out why they stopped liking each other..can anyone clarify to me that?
Plus let's talk about this sort of couple (to me that is) here! ^_^

I don't think this really clarifies it for you but it's a try (Stacey & Cheerleaders): "My one steady boyfriend was Sam Thomas. We lasted a long tim, but we kind of drifted apart and agreed to see other people."
Man, one thing I hate about some of the girls is how boys can make some of them go weak in the knees. In Claudia & Phantom Phone Call, Stacey was almost in tears when Kristy told the group about how Sam was dating some girl. I thought Shadow Lake was pretty cute.

Sam and Stacey were so weird. First they liked each other, then this was never mentioned again, then like fifty books later they liked each other again and then it was never mentioned -again! weird

I didn't like Stacey and Sam all that much. Maybe because their relationship was never really explained all that well. But Sam bugged me, esp in Shadow Lake.

yeah, that was what I thought. I read a while ago "Stacey's Choice" and it mentions how Sam came to SMS to walk with Stacey. I thought that was weird how we didn't hear from Sam and Stacey, then it just pops up. Which was why I was asking, cause I thought I made a mistake or something.

They probably drifted apart because he was in high school and she was in middle school. I know he was only two years older, but high schoolers are generally way different than middle schoolers. I'd think that, because she was still in middle school, he would have gotten teased for being with her.

Stacey and Sam are my favorite canon pairing. I like how their relationship is on-and-off. That seems more realistic for me, considering their ages. I can see them being on-and-off all through high school. They liked each other a lot, but never seemed really in LUV.
I understand her being upset over it. Stacey tends to place great value on what boys think of her. Plus, this was early in the series, very soon after all her bad experiences in New York. Her self-esteem was rather low and so it was important to her that a cute older boy liked her.

I'd think that, because she was still in middle school, he would have gotten teased for being with her. I think that's a plot thread in Starring the BSC, isn't it? A friend of mine in middle school had this huge crush on an older guy she knew from her church group, and after two years of flirting with her, he finally asked her out the week she started high school. Later she asked him what made him ask her then and he looked all shocked and said, "A senior can go out with a freshman, totally, but a high-school junior can't date a middle-school girl! It would have been wrong!" That always cracked me up. Also, I don't know if I'm hallucinating this, but the day Sam and Stacey meet in Kristy's Great Idea, is she wearing an outfit made out of sweatshirt material and printed with punctuation marks? I'd really like to believe I didn't design that in my own head.

Not punctuation marks, yellow number 10s! Dibble. I thought the Stacey-and-Sam pairing ended in Stacey's Big Crush when Stace turned him down for the dance, saving herself for Wes's invitation I thought Sam seemed like a bit of an awkward teenage dork. I'm surprised Stacey liked him.

eww, hahah, yeah i remember that she said he was cute with his hair and blue eyes or something.
i agree that Stacey and Sam were a weird couple. The were always on again off again or they just came back to each other after dating other people (and between the two of them, that was a lot of other people!)

In Kristy's Great Idea, Kristy said that according to Stacey, Sam was a gorgeous hunk, and that according to Sam, Stacey was a foxy chick. Or something like that.

eww yes in Kristy's Great Idea she is saying how attractive her brother is. She says it twice, once in general and then again calling him a hunk and Stacey a foxy chick. I find it rather creepy...
