^agreed. I have never thought about the location of her phone, but thinking about it now, I'd assume it had a very long cord and they just kinda put it in the middle of her floor during meetings.

I've always thought that the wire connecting it to the phone jack was long enough that she just put it in different places around the room from time to time... on the desk, on the floor, whatever. This is exactly what I thought. Different girls answered the phone all the time, so I figured they'd just pass it around or it could be easily moved. For some reason, I always pictured an old-school rotary phone, that 1970s yellowish color. Why yellow, I don't know. Why a rotary phone, I don't know. But that's what I had in my mind, and the girls usually pulled the phone into their respective laps when they talked on it. I don't know where my imagination came up with it, but that's what I picture. Like this, only a more mustardy yellow:

^ That's kind of what I pictured, too, but hadn't thought about the color. Love the picture ;D

^ The second one is more like I pictured it. I never really thought about what kind of phone she had, though.

Actually, all the pictures fit with my rough mental image. I can picture it being buried under mounds of "mess", though ;D

I never really thought about the location of the phone, the things I think about now that I am on the board. I always pictured it as a princess phone in my head. I think I may have gotten that from either the tv show or movie.

On the tv show, it was a trimline (burgundy in color??) and I always assumed the put it on the bed for the meetings, or on the floor, depending on who set it down after answering it.

ITA with those of you who think it's a trimline with a long cord and is moved around the room.

Poor girl would never be able to get a cordless because it'd get lost in the piles of crap in her room. I picture it going dead while Kristy (it has to be Kristy) is talking to a client because Claudia would never remember to put it back on it's base to re-charge. Do you think now-a-days Claudia would have her own cell phone rather than home phone?

^ Claudia definitely would forget to recharge the phone. I'm getting a good laugh now picturing Kristy's reaction ;D

yeah buying your kid their own phone line seems like a huge waste of money these days. most of the people my age that i know don't have landlines at all.

But if the girls all had cell phones, there'd be no need for meetings!!
