Okay, in election spirit, if the BSC were adults in 2008, who do we think they would vote for?

Oh crap, I was about to start a new thread about that exact topic. Wow, what a coincidence. But, um, I think that Kristy would be a Republican, Dawn might be in Nader's party, MA probably a Democrat. I don't know.

I think I’ll just comment to say I’m not going to comment on this topic. I actually come on here to get away from thinking of things like politics and had kind of hoped we’d stay away from them on these boards…. I guess I’ll just not read this thread and hope it doesn’t start any controversies as politics sometimes can…. ;D

Yes, I'm going to stay quiet, for fear that my extremely opinionated self will get in trouble otherwise.

I think it's a fair topic for a thread, fluffy...I think we're a nice enough bunch not to generate too much controversy I think the BSC would be pleased to see a woman running for president...

^i have always felt that the bsc held basically the same political views as me, and found evidence in the text for it. and then i know other people who hold very different political views who say the same thing about the bsc. but yeah politics and religion are always touchy subjects i can see dawn being green party though.

Lol i was thinking about that question...what would their political views be... Yeah for some reason i see Kristy as a republican, Dawn as very liberal... and...the others falling somewhere in between.

i don't know if kristy would be for small government though... she seems to be a fan of bureaucracy. i think she would run a government the way she runs the bsc: as a dictator.

God, I can just see Kristy as President of the US, giving the Congresspeople The Look if they come to senate late (though I guess the Prez isn't usually there during congressional session... it was just an amusing mental image:)
"And then there's me, the President. Starting with the Baby-sitters Club, I've always been the one to come up with ideas. Plus my friends say I'm a little bossy. Well, you have to be bossy to sit in the Oval Office! Despite a smear campaign run by Cokie Mason, the American people knew they could trust me to get the job done. (You should have seen my predecessor, this guy named George, the way he ran things was a total disaster!) Our vice president is Claudia Kishi. We have all our strategy sessions in her room because unlike the rest of the cabinet, she's the only one with her own phone line. Our treasurer is Stacey McGill. She's a real math whiz, which you have to be to figure out all the taxpayers money! "Dues day" is April 15th, and which is not everyone's favorite day. Stacey's job is to figure out how much we pay to the military, the public school system, public services, and, if there's any money left over at the end of the year, we have a nation-wide pizza party! Mary-Anne Spier is our Secretary of State..."
hehe I am having too much fun with this.

Hehehe, in that case Claudia would pass out junk food to all the senators.
If I was more of a political junkie I would make it into a fic... hmm.... Kristy and the Mystery of the Electoral College?

^I liked your Kristy as president story, songheim that was funny!
Dawn would be concerned with envioronmental issues and become a global warming activist... and Logan would probably be concerned with child labor laws. ;D

Just for fun: I think Dawn would vote for Kucinich (or atleast WOULD have, since he dropped out before the CA primary) Since she lives in California which tends to go democratic she would probably vote green party... or for Nadar Claudia wouldn't vote. I see her as the apathetic type. Or she might write in Nancy Drew... Kristy would definitely be a Clinton Supporter. She'd be super psyched to see a women in office (Abby too I think) but semi disappointed because SHE wanted to be the 1st female prez... I had trouble associating Stacey with a politician but then I saw songheim's post and agree she would totally have a crush on Obama! Then again she might vote for Giuliani (who's name I'm sure I just butchered) because of the New Yorker thing, but then I've heard he's not actually super popular with New Yorkers. Don't know how much truth there is to that though... And maybe she would vote for Bloomburg since he is the current NYC mayor, or Clinton. Wow, New York is represented quite well in this race.... I for some reason unbeknownst to me see Mary Anne Voting for John McCain. Logan would vote for Edwards, or Huckabee, or anyone with a Southern Accent. Mallory would vote for Barack Obama...because she would be afraid Jessi would call her racist if she didn't . And I see the pikes being Obama people anyway. Jessi, hmm I guess according to my above statement would probably vote for Barack Obama... I generally see the BSC members as being politically moderate, or just left of center. Except for Logan who I see a pretty staunch republican (though more socially than fiscally) and Shannon who I see as being a republican or Libertarian (more fiscally conservative, then again, Stacey could fall into this category too...) and Dawn who I see as farther left than the others (a very liberal democrat or green party). This thread was fun:P Politics and the BSC my too guilty pleasures rolled into one!
