Mine was in Kristy's Great Idea, where MA cried in front of her entire class because a teacher scolded her. It didn't actually happen in the book, but it was an incident that MA referred to in the past.
So . . . what's your favorite MA moment where something made her cry?

Doesn't a book (Logan Bruno Boy Babysitter?) say that she always cries when she listens to Nicky Cash's gushy love songs? Obviously I haven't heard him sing but I think it goes being sensitive and becomes a bit over the top.

My favorite Mary Anne crying moment is DEFINITELY when she runs out of her own surprise party in Logan Likes Mary Anne. Classic.
Also anytime the BSC fights and she starts crying and someone decides to be a b*tch and be like "Stop being such a baby, Mary Anne!" or some such thing.

my favorite moment is definitely the one in little miss stoneybrook...and dawn (i always say that title really dramatically in my head), where kristy is "inducting" mallory and jessi into the babysitters club and gives them a speech. mary anne bursts into tears and says "oh, that is so beautiful!"

^ ITA, that is a good one! Plus AMM wrote that book so you know she wasn't seriously using that to get us to think MA was really sensitive -- I love how she was a little snarky early in the series

I like the time where Mary Anne felt insulted and cried. Oh, wait, didn't that happen in every book?

^ Only in the books where she wasn't going completely against everything we were ever told about her by being a passive-aggressive b*tch!

Mary Anne bursting into tears and running out of her own surprise party was awesome. It was such a WTF moment. But, yeah, the best ones are definitely when the club is fighting and Mary Anne starts crying and everyone gets mad at her for it. haha!

Any scene where she "flings" herself onto a bed sobbing. It's just so dramatic!

At one point someone (Kristy if I'm not mistaken) says all you have to do is whisper "Old Yeller" to Mary Anne and her eyes well up. A little over the top to me, as sad as Old Yeller may be.

It's a movie. I think the dog dies in the end. I haven't seen it, but thats what I've learnt from watching "Friends".
