This is such a great thread! Lots of good crying moments already listed, and I can't think of any others. So this is my favorite of them: kristy is "inducting" mallory and jessi into the babysitters club and gives them a speech. mary anne bursts into tears and says "oh, that is so beautiful!" I always laugh when I read that. It's priceless.

My favorite Mary Anne crying moment is DEFINITELY when she runs out of her own surprise party in Logan Likes Mary Anne. Classic. Also anytime the BSC fights and she starts crying and someone decides to be a b*tch and be like "Stop being such a baby, Mary Anne!" or some such thing. I LOVED when MA went all psycho at her party!

^ Me too!
In Claudia and the New Girl, when Claud writes the apology poem Mary Anne bursts into tears and says, "Oh, that was so lovely and beautiful!" Then Kristy starts laughing at her. Good old Kristy. ;D

^ That is kind of funny. ;D I have to admit I want to roll my eyes and laugh at a lot of MA's crying moments. Then there are times when it seems like she should cry and she doesn't. Somtimes the sensitivity seems almost forced.

At Richard & Sharon's wedding when MA cries and Claudia says something like "way to go" after MA's makeup runs. I thought that was kind of mean.

^ ;D And did she look like a racoon before the tears, too? I can imagine with Claudia's "artistic" assistance she might have. ;D

Isn't there a book where someone says Mary Anne cries at store openings (or it might have been closings). Because if i'm not making that up that's my favourite moment!

Oh, I didn't mean to imply Claudia must have done a bad job...I should have phrased that better I think the makeup was supposedly very subtle, IIRC. I remember that too! Not sure which book it was in. Haha, I love it.

^ I know you weren't implying Claud did a bad job - I was, though. ;D ;D For some reason, I picture Claudia's makeup being as "creative" as some of her elaborate outfits - more is better and no one but her can "pull it off" type thing. ;D

Like other have already mentioned, my favorite was when she freaked and ran out on her own surprise party. That was the first time I realized she might be a little weird. Wouldn't she have been more embarrassed at the scene she had caused?

^She was, but I can understand how at the time it seemed like the best idea to just get the heck out of there and forget about everyone staring at her.
Although is it a crying moment? I don't think she cries about it...

I also think MA made a bigger scene but agree she just wanted to get out of there. Strangely, I felt sorry for her and was annoyed with her at the same time. Don't think she cried then either. ;D Did she cry when Amelia died? I know she didn't right away when her house burned down.
