^ I remember the part where she cried into his shirt. I read your post as cried "AT his shirt" and thought his shirt made her cry. I was like, "what? " ;D I like that MA crying moment, too.

My favorite MA crying moment is when Charlotte, Becca, and the Arnolds put a play on about Photosynthesis, and Mary Anne starts crying at the end. ;D
I was also reading Claudia and the Clue in the Photograph and Mary Anne cries when Mrs. Barrett leaves. I know she's supposed to be sensitive.. but sheesh, she's a baby-sitter! ;D

What book was the photosynthesis play in? I don't remember that.

^ I remember the play but not the book, either. ;D For some reason, I was thinking Bad Babysitter but that was the Seven Zorbs play so I don't think so.

^ Thanks. ;D It was driving me crazy. ;D Now I remember that Carolyn did the play as a way to express herself when the others were writing, etc. (or something like that), right?

Yep. ;D There was some sort of BSC event, so the girls got together to have a writer's workshop. I think it was Carolyn's idea to have the play be about Photosynthesis. Then later as part of the Photosynthesis play Becca dressed as a tree and sang a song on Chlorophyll, where Mary Anne started crying.

My favorite is definitely when she cried over Mallory and Jessi being inducted and it brought about an from Claudia and Dawn. Especially because Dawn had already been bitten by the jealousy bug over the whole thing...I'm surprised she didn't launch into a "Why didn't Mary Anne cry for ME?!" lament. Actually, Mary Anne might have, it's just been ages since I read Mary Anne Saves the Day (the fight scenes in that make me so uncomfortable). There's also some where you just want to cry along with her...like at the beginning of her Portrait Book when she's reading the baby book her mom kept and gets to the part where her mom writes about the first time Mary Anne smiled at her and she loses it.

^ I agree that part in MA's Book was sad. Some of her crying moments make sense while others just baffle me - like the photosynthesis one. ;D

^ I really enjoy that whole book. The poems that the kids write are so cute and I also love the main plot (or at least reading about baby Eli/Daniel) I can see a lot of potential for MA crying in that one, though. ;D (over "touching" moments)
