I just wanna say this...how did Abby get so much hair? It's always, like, double the size of her head...God I would have loved to take a hair straightener to that.

^ I'm glad they got rid of Dawn, too, because she was getting annoying in her later books.... I really like Jessi and her absence is one of the reasons I don't like FF. I think she's my favorite sitter.

^Why Jessi? I'm glad they got rid of Dawn because I like CA Diaries. Jessi's my least favorite BSC member. I guess I just don't like her personality. I really like CA Diaries too.

Hmm, I think Abby is my least favorite sitter. I really don't hate her or anything, but it was just the fact that I loved the seven, and I was really, really sad when Dawn left, and then Abby took her place so I guess I kind of resented her for that. I like her personality, though, and the fact that she stands up to Kristy. I guess it was just the fact that she replaced Dawn (through no fault of her own!). Oh, gosh. Funny how I'm talking about these like they're REAL! lol. I would think I was crazy - if you guys didn't, too!

Abby is growing on me, now that I'm rereading. She's a lot more REAL than the other sitters (well, by the time she came in and they'd all been labelled, categorized and stored in their personal character cubby holes). I haven't been able to get my hands on her portrait but I want it. I really liked her in Abby's Lucky Thirteen and Abby's Twin. She's no more irritating in Abby's Twin than Claudia is in the book where Peaches' daughter Lynn is born. Plus, as many people have mentioned on the boards, she's NOT part of the best friend pairing, and that makes her all the more real.

I have mixed feelings on Abby. Something about her annoys me, but her books are actually pretty good. I didn't like her at all in "Abby The Bad Sport", but you kind of weren't supposed to like her there. I didn't like her in "Stacey's Broken Heart" or "Kristy's Worst Idea" either. She was a terrible president and treasurer, and just about everyone in the latter book was annoying except for the younger BSC members.
On the other hand, Abby may have had the best portrait book. It was interesting to find out how close she and Anna were before first grade - the fact that when Anna was hurt, she started crying, thinking she was hurt too, and when she noticed preschool had no identical kids and she lost sight of Anna, she thought it was a place where half of you disappeared. The part where she lost her dad made me cry, even though I knew what was going to happen. The only thing is, there's a flaw in the Kindle. The section from first grade is called 'Red and Blue Just Won't Do". The thing is, the writing means my Kindle think it says "Bed and Blue Just Won't Do". I noticed the R in "Red" curls over so it almost looks like a B.
I also liked "Abby's Lucky Thirteen", but I like any book where someone is falsely accused and then proved innocent and gets a real apology. Abby's mom was probably right - her teacher was probably still angry that Abby complained to her mom about her and was ready to disbelieve her unless Abby could give evidence she couldn't argue with - it wasn't Abby's fault she didn't know the guy's name, because she was new, and the teacher must have known that.
So I guess...something about Abby annoys me, but I do kind of like the way she refuses to take Kristy too seriously and she's got some good plots.
