Its so weird because as a kid, I LOVED books that described what Stacey or Claudia were wearing, and I thought those two girls were so dibble, but even then when I'd read the descriptions I was just like wait...whuh?!?! and didn't see how they were cool outfits at all. But I still was so disappointed if I didn't get to know what they were wearing

You ever notice how some of Claudia's outfits would have been ok but then she manages to ruin it with some bizzaro accessory?
For example: Claudia's Sports Day outfit in Jessi's Gold Medal (Chapter 12 not 2 though)
"Take Claudia. She was wearing electric-pink track shorts with a turquoise racing stripe, a matching top with cut-off sleves, brand new high top sneakers with no socks, and floral print suspenders! Her hair was pulled up on top of her head and held in place with a silver barrette in the shape of the Olympic symbol. If it had been an athletic wear fashion show, she would have won."
I was thinking while reading this that the outfit would have been fine if Claudia hadn't stuck the suspenders on. Sure it was a little too brightly colored for my taste but it wouldn't have been a wierd outfit if she hadn't put on suspenders.
Just for fun here is the chapter 2 outfit from the same book.
"At the meeting, for example, she was wearing these sharply creased, pastel green cuffed shorts; with a wild colored Hawaiian shirt tied at her waist with vibrant colors that perfectly picked up the green; and sandals with crisscrossing ankle straps to her knees. Her hair was swept to one side and held in place with a long fake flowered barrette that looked like a Hawaiian lei."

I just read that Claud was wearing a "harlequin" shirt. What exactly is that? For some reason, I kept picturing something from one of the romance novels or a shirt with covers from the romance novels all over it ;D

I looked up "harlequin" and one of the definitions was "having multicolored shapes: varied in color and having a pattern of irregular shapes". So basically she was wearing an ugly colorful shirt. Like always.

^ ;D That makes sense. I did get a good laugh imagining something from the romance novels, though.

when I was younger I always thought Claudia's outfits were cool and tried to duplicate them or make up my own Claudia like outfits. Now that I am older I realize how ridiculous some of her outfits were!

I always wondered where the hell Claudia found all her weird barrettes. I mean, where exactly would one go to find a barrette in the shape of a VCR? And why would you want to wear a VCR when a barrette in the shape of a videocassette would make much more sense? I mean, if it was in the shape of a VCR it would basically be a large square barrette, no?

Why would anyone want to wear a barrette shaped like a VCR anyway?

Knowing Claudia, it was probably one of her theme outfits like "technology Chic" or something.

^ Claud's hair accessories and earrings always seemed really strange and almost ridiculous to me. Of course, I never cared much for Claud's outfits, even when I was a kid.

Honestly, I always loved the majority of Claudia's accessories I loved her dangling skeleton earrings that she wears in the first book--OMG I totally wanted those when I was little! And I would so wear a VCR barrette just because it's ridiculous (although a videocassette would be better). I know this is the worst, not best, outfit thread, but the othe day I found a creation that wasn't bad at all (I think it was in Undercover Babysitter): yellow overall shorts, a tie-dyed baby T, purple jellies, toenails painted scarlet. I would have found an outfit like that at thirteen really fresh

^Me too, I loved overall shorts at that age and owned a pair in every color. My favorites were red though. ;D

I did have a pair of those - light blue denim - that I rarely wore (I mostly wore stretch pants but not the tight ones - still do around the house ;D) and thought they were so, so cool ;D

Claudia's fashion always struck me as strange... Laine or Stacey is more my style I'd have to say some of her food themed outfits were the worst though!
