I just read this in Babysitters Beware and had to post it. It's so touching. This is from a chapter that Kristy narrates, when Watson finally realizes that Kristy has been worried about him because of his recent heart attack:
You know what? I didn't want Watson disappearing the way my father had. I wanted Watson around for a long, long time. Like forever.
I gave Watson a quick hug. "Okay," I said. "I'm freezing."
"Go in the house," said Watson, giving me a quick hug back.
I dashed up the stairs. When I reached the top, Watson said, "Kristy?"
I turned. Watson smiled at me. A family, fatherly smile. "Thanks," he said.

^That's the passage I had in mind when I made my post. What a lovely moment!

^ I haven't read that one for a while. Now I will have to. ;D I love moments like those between Kristy and Watson. They seem very natural, too.

I would have loved to have seen Watson adopt Kristy and her brothers.

I really would have liked Kristy to call Watson "dad" to his face. He would have loved that

this is kind of off topic, but i was sitting between two of my friends on my laptop looking at this board, and the friend on the right was like, "oh yeah, kristy, who was that guy she dated again?" and i said "bart". then my guy friend glanced at all the topics and saw the threads "kristy + alan" and "kristy and watson" and commented, "wow, kristy seems like a floozy!"

^ ;D This makes me think of a few years ago when I was talking about "Bob" and how I had been spending a lot of time with him and someone thought it was my boyfriend, not my pony. ;D

i like seeing it grow too, but some of the blended families seem too typcial. My mom is divorced and she hates my father and nothing out her mouth about him is positive, she trash talks him and my dad never does the same to her. and my mom tells me that I am not allowed to call my stepmom my step mom or introduce her as step mom. its so frustrating, because that IS what she is.
I am only on book 89, Kristy and the Dirty Diapers so maybe there might be a book with a hostile family divorce later on.
While not all relationships are 'wicked step parent' some step parents are not as loving and accepting of 'more kids'
Hm, that would be cool if there was a book about that sort of idea.

^ I think that's one of my favorite Kristy/Watson moments, too. Also like when he is so proud of her in Kristy at Bat and that whole trip they take together in that one and when he gives her the baseball glove in Kristy's Portrait.
