I picked Logan because his books were the most boring to me. There were some books I liked him in, but I always liked the other members better.

I picked Mary Anne. In addition to being passive aggressive she's also a manipulator. I think she cries to pull focus on herself (like in the Logan/Kristy instance mentioned above); there was also that scene in Middle School Mystery where she insinuated that maybe Claud *did* cheat-everybody jumped on her, and MA turned on the tears so they would back off. I was a fat kid, and it bugged me in Big Date how her response to Norman Hill was along the lines of "ew, a fat kid, get it away from me".

^ I don't believe she acted like that in Dawn's Big Date. She danced with him and made him happy.

Aw, for some reason it won't let me vote My choice is a tie between Dawn and Kristy, which is ironic because they used to be my favorites. Kristy because I don't like how nasty and mean she can be when she's in dictator mode (which is most of the time) and how her idea of thinking is "BSC or else!" and she always makes the other girls feel horrible if something comes up they have no control over (she was awful to Mallory in Jessi and the Bad Babysitter...she was more concerned about losing business than what was wrong with her friend). Dawn...I do like her in some of the earlier books, Dawn and the Big Sleepover is one of my favorites. But she just became too self-righteous and a pain in the neck. She was also horribly two-faced to Mary Anne in particular, but I guess you could saw that about Mary Anne too.

^I don't care much for Dawn either. I used to not like Kristy, but here lately I have been reading more abot her (because of the RPG) and she is probably my favorite BSC member now.

And she also lost her cool when Dawn called them at a meeting...no "Hi, how are you," just "YOU HAVE TO COME BACK WE'RE SO BUSY WE NEED YOU NO I'M NOT EVEN JOKING!!" God, Kristy annoys me throughout that entire book.

Yeah, I just can't hate Kristy either, which is funny because when I was younger, she was probably one of my least favourite characters. I didn't identify with her as much as I did with some of the others. I do agree that her habit of worrying more about the club than her friends in some books is really irritating. I never could understand that, especially when a lot of the books have gone on about how 'friends are so important and more important than anything else.' Then again, some books have all the girls overly obsessive about the club. I think it was in 'Mallory on Strike' that this caught my attention most. I couldn't believe how badly they acted when Mal asked not to accept any jobs for a while, as if taking some time off for a few weeks was equivalent to leaving for good. I hated how she had to plead for her right to take time off to do something so important to her. Incidentally, MA cemented her position as my least favourite in that. I think it was in that one, after Mal had turned down a couple of jobs, that she made a pointed remark about how Mal should take it? I mean, why did she have to draw more attention to Mal not taking any jobs? I would have thought she would have picked up on the fact that Mal was doing it for a reason and just left it alone. I haven't read it very recently, though, so I might be ranting here about something completely wrong.

^ Maybe MA was trying to be considerate and want to see Mallory get the jobs for the money.

My least favorite by far is Dawn. In the early days, I didn't have much of an opinion of her at all. But as the series progressed, she got more and more self-important and bitchy. When she spied on Stacey in Stacey vs the BSC, I stopped liking her completely. I was thrilled when she left in Farewell, Dawn.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I couldn't stand Mallory at the beginning because of how dweeby she was, but now I really like her. I think now that I'm about 15 years removed from her age, I can empathise with her a lot more. I understand being the "ugly duckling" and feeling misunderstood. She's my third favorite after Abby and Stacey.

I don't like Abby that much because she's like a copy-cat of Kristy and she came so late in the series. I don't HATE her, but she's not my favorite to read about.

I don't care much for Abby most of the time, either. She can be okay at times, though.

I couldn't believe how badly they acted when Mal asked not to accept any jobs for a while, as if taking some time off for a few weeks was equivalent to leaving for good. I hated how she had to plead for her right to take time off to do something so important to her. I just bought Mallory on Strike at a library sale, but haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. I read it once years ago, but I don't remember it Kristy does that so much though. I guess the others jumped in during other stories to hit home the plot of one sitter being the odd girl out (like Mallory in the case you're talking about ). Kristy just...my god, it's like she's insensitive to anything that doesn't involve the BSC. In Jessi and the Bad Babysitter, Mallory turns down another job because she doesn't feel well and Kristy explodes at her "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?!?!?!" and orders her to see a doctor. Not because she's worried about Mallory being sick, it's because if Mallory's gone, they'll be 2 sitters short, clients will start calling elsewhere, and the BSC will lose business, which spells out total doom to her. But, of course, she doesn't want to be mean, Mallory! I can't stand her drives to get the BSC attention either. You can tell she was so jealous of the We <3 Kids Club getting on tv and in the paper and that carried on the rest of the series. I wanted to scream at her in Live at WSTO when she was dragging the kids on the air to get herself attention. And in Mallory's Christmas Wish, she gets stars in her eyes when Mallory's family wins that contest and invites the herself and the BSC over to the Pikes house for their Holiday Party. And everyone's against that, I remember Claudia going "Um, Kristy? We weren't invited." Kristy ignores this reasoning and immediately concludes that this will be AMAZING publicity for the BSC! I was so happy to see it all blow up in her face when they don't film the day of the party and she humiliated herself in front of Mr. Henry. lol sorry this got so long. Ever since I started re-reading the books, I've done a total attitude change towards Kristy and I cannot stand her now.

Yeah, I liked that too. ;D And even when she gave up on the television crew she STILL gave Mallory a dark look like it was her fault. I wish Claudia would have completely ignored Kristy's desperate attempts to get on her show.
