I loved her relationship with her mom and reading about the fun stuff she did in New York and with her friends in Stacey vs. the BSC, I could empathize with her quite a bit even if she was changing.

I've recently noticed in the later books that all of a sudden, Stacey's favourite colour is black and that is pretty much all she wears. Does anyone know when this first started? I'm wondering why they randomly decided that halfway though the series...

You're right, I wonder when that started as well. She should have worn black on more covers.

^Since when are the covers consistent with the stories, anyway? ;-)

I only remember her wearing black a few times...I never thought it was one of her distinguishing characteristics.

Black's very sophisticated. And slimming. Just what she needed.

I can agreee that Stacey is the most unique. She's also the most realistic one. I agree with Stacey's diabetes changing. She was prone to eat pizza or SOME cookies as long as they were sugar free or low fat.

There's some inconsistency in that; Stacey couldn't eat the pizza that MA got at the end of #4.

^Yeah, supposedly because of the processed cheese on it. In later books, she eats pizza, like in Stacey vs. the BSC.

I think she had to reject the omelets Mr. Pike was making in one of the Sea City books for the same cheese reason. I just read one where she was eating Doritos at a BSC meeting.

Correct about the Sea City eggs.

As a child, I never gave any thought of whether or Stacey came from an average family or wealthy family but now I think her family's wealthy because of where she lived in NY, the private school she went to, when her mother had shopping sprees, etc. I'm surprised that she didn't think she might be wealthy when she looked at the lifestyle of someone like Mary Anne or Claudia.

Stacey is very fascinating. She's pretty, smart and loves fashion like I do. Her relationships are fun to read and I like her taste in guys. I think she comes from a upper middle class home but I don't think she's wealthy.

Stacey is my favorite now that I'm rereading the series. I like her relationship with her mom and that she wasn't stuck in the BSC Zone and had other friends. I can't remember what I thought about her when I was a kid. I know I liked her, but I can't remember what I did/didn't like.
